"The Conjurer Made off with the Dish" is a short story about a daydreaming boy who is sent by his mother to buy some beans. However, he fails to complete the task because he gets distracted by outside forces, forgets his task, and loses the dish or even the money he needs to buy the beans. Through his journey, the happiness that the boy finds partially from the conjurer's peep show and later recollection of his romantic encounter with the little girl. He experienced a mixture of strange, obscure feelings as he kissed the strange girl. The theme of this story is that the consequences caused by indulging in temptations can cause one to mature early in life. "The Conjurer Made off with the Dish" has an open ending, and I don't like this ending. In the end, the boy is uncertain of how to get home and thinks he will face many difficulties before finding his way back home. Well, it's an interesting book to read. But I would not choose to re-read it ^^
