Convenient compact format makes this volume particularly handy to take along as a guide while viewing the great works featured within.
Brilliant! Not a travel guide in the traditional sense, but rather an exploration of many, many sites within Paris [plus Versailles]and a number of museum artworks, as well. Wonderful [small, but totally readable] maps of sections within arrondisments. Additionally, there are more than a dozen two to three page essays on different epochs, persons, events, schools of thought, etc. This is a beautifully produced hard cover package: substantial boards and binding, excellently designed d/j, rife with color illustrations and all within a wonderful 5" x 5" trim size. Anyone with an interest in art, architecture and/or Paris, will be fascinated by this book! All in all, an indispensale companion when in Paris and for the armchair traveler.
