Can a baby save the world?A grieving old man and an orphan girl risk their lives to bring us salvation. The followers of the one called the Deliverer work against all odds to publish the story of how God sent his son to save the world. As the books start becoming popular, they find a lost journal written decades earlier. The journal tells of an old man who teaches religious lessons to an orphan girl and how those lessons helped him to overcome his grief. As they both learn about God, they discover the Seven Fourteen prophecy from ancient Scripture. Now, through Simeon’s mystical helper and Anna’s prophetic visions, they learn the prophecy is about to come true. But first they must prevail over the unbridled madness of a medical researcher and the terrorism of a malevolent Russian Tsar.
A child is to be born to Mary and Joseph. But will December 25 bring peace and goodwill or doom and devastation?
Biblical fiction connecting the Old Testament to the Gospel story of Christ.
The “Songs of the Deliverer” trilogy re-imagines the story of Christ from prophecy to life to divine savior. “Songs of the Deliverer” novels are a unique way for youngsters to learn the Bible and know Christ.
Songs of the Deliverer III: Glory Born is a novel written by Elvo Bucci. It is a story about birth of a child that is destined to be a Savior of humankind, written and told through a story in which an old man and an orphan girl are two main protagonists. December is getting dangerously near and so is everything else that December is often remembered of: Christmas holidays, the time of perpetual joy and happiness, time when we all tend to be better people than we are or than we were throughout the rest of the year. Songs of the Deliverer III is a novel written in spirit of upcoming Christmas holidays. It is a story in which an elderly man tells a story about God’s son and God’s desire and mercy towards humankind. Some readers may automatically dislike this novel because there is a mention of God in it. However, I suggest that you do not do that. If you do not, you will be glad you did not, because the novel has its meaning and its story. There are certain things I did not know about Christmas (Christ as the part of the name). For example, about Jewish culture and Israel, but this novel helped me look at some things from different point of view. My opinion is that this novel offers a very good alternative from our “usual’’ holiday way of “celebrating’’ (spend-as-much-as-you-can type of celebration). It gives us an insight into what Christmas really is and what should be really and truly about; and that is something much more than spending thousands of (write your desired currency) on things we do not really need.
"Glory Born tells the story of a grieving old man and an orphan girl who are called to witness the birth of a miracle child. As they strive to fulfill their mission they are confronted by evil and tyranny. Success means salvation but if they fail, the world may be lost forever." -Elvo Bucci
Elvo Bucci's Songs of the Deliverer III: Glory Born is labelled children's and religious. The author states that this book is "written to help our children and teens experience faith and understand what love is". Based on my experience as an elementary school librarian, most kids below the fourth grade aren't going to grasp the meaning of this book. Bucci goes about his quest to show the true meaning of love through a work of fiction in Glory Born, the third in the Songs of the Deliverer series.
As an agnostic reader I tried to focus on the moral lessons rather than religious ones here. Christmas is upon us and whatever you believe in terms of the origins of the holiday, I think most of us can agree that this world could use more love and compassion. If we as a society could find it within ourselves to put more emphasis on people and not things, December 25 would become a celebration of love and life rather than gift count and excess.
Songs of the Deliverer III: Glory Born is an interesting modern take on the birth of Jesus Christ. It follows a young orphan girl and an older man as they follow the ancient prophecy and learn about Christ. I’m not entirely certain how I feel about trying to make Christ’s birth more entertaining by adding a contemporary twist to it, but I think this book would appeal to the younger generation, and perhaps lead them into faith as it holds several bible references. All around it was a well written book and Elvo Bucci obviously put some time developing the characters to resemble those in the Bible as possible. I think this book would appeal to just about anyone who has even the slightest belief in the Lord and Jesus Christ. It’s a relatively short read at only 172 pages so you can get through it in a couple hours.
This story is well written in a style that is directed towards the younger age teens as well as children. The book teaches the values and morals through stories about well developed characters who's stories educate ,inspires, and captivate our young reader minds and souls. I shared this book with my 8 year old daughter and she was very excited and asked lots of questions. This is a book that can be an enjoyable read and tells a good story. I would recommend this book for the young adults or parents who like to read with their children
I shed a few tears on this modern retelling of the story of the birth of Christ. Loved the characters of Simeon and Anna. Think I will reread this when it gets closer to Christmas. Plan on reading the 2 previous books to the series.
What an awesome book, I love this book. I really appreciate the well written, and deeply insightful discussion of the scripture. I will be recommending this book to everyone
The only reason I gave it one star is because it won’t allow me to give it zero. “Jesus was thwarted from being the savior of the world“??? Talking about a huge turn off! This other baby born named literally Emmanuel is the Savior? No, just know, not a good book for me.

A fun rendition of the birth of Christ in a modern setting told by an old Jewish man who befriends a young girl named Anna. He teaches her about God and she tells him of prophecies. I rather enjoyed it.
It was fun putting the connections together as to who was whom. I enjoyed this retelling of the story of the greatest, most miraculous birth in history
A modern story of the lives of Anna and Simeon relationship and how it relates to the Messiah’s prophecy and coming. An interesting and inspirational reading!
