LANGUAGE OF THE HEART: HOW TO READ THE BIBLE

Rate this book
After fourteen years as a best seller, this revised version of Language of the Heart will continue to help Catholics to become comfortable reading the Bible on their own. Updated to suit current scholarly understandings behind our sacred texts, and complete with a new Introduction that situates the need for the Bible in a more secularized world, this revised edition retains its engaging style. It is easy to find scriptural citations, and there are links to an online course with supplementary activities. This book is a must, especially for teachers of Catholic schools and anyone charged with helping Catholics to understand the Bible. Noel Cooper has three degrees in theology and over 25 years’ experience as a co-ordinator of Religious Education for the York Region Catholic School Board, near Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Very glad I ignored the first review. I know everyone is entitled to their opinion but I don't think very highly of people who 'trash' other's work.

This is a well thought out book and I was very glad to have read it. I had taken this book from my local library. This book has so much detail. It is a great support when you need a little plain talk trying to understand some of the concepts in the Bible. I will be purchasing my own copy for reference. I am working my way through the Bible In A Year and have recommended it to others in the group. My thank to Mr. Cooper for his time and efforts.
