I'm a big fan of Cicely Mary Barker's artwork, have been since the Flower Fairies won my heart all those years ago, so I own quite a few books that have been illustrated by her. In this little gem we are treated to both color illustrations and line art. Some rhymes will likely be familiar to most whereas I found others a bit more obscure, relating as they do to Feast day or Saint Holidays (but perhaps familiar to those of the British Isles?). This would be perfect to read to a child or to add as a part of an art collection for any fan of Barker's work.
