What happens when a metal band gets caught up in the apocalypse? Even better, what happens when you give that same scenario to twelve of the genre’s hottest authors? Rosamilia, Besser, Abell, Buda, Shelman, Silverman, Stallcup, Wallen, Johnesee, Wilburn, Welmerink, Madron … each author was put to the task to take the apocalyptic story up to eleven.
1. 12. 11. Do the math. It all works out to rock and roll; zombie style.
Jack Wallen is what happens when a Gen Xer mind-melds with present day snark. Jack is a seeker of truth and a writer of words with a quantum mechanical pencil and a disjointed beat of sound and soul. Although he resides in the unlikely city of Louisville, Kentucky, Jack likes to think of himself more as an interplanetary traveler, on the lookout for the Satellite of Love and a perpetual movie sign...or so he tells the reflection in the mirror (some times in 3rd person). Jack is the author of numerous tales of dark, twisty fiction including the I Zombie series, the Klockwerk Movement, the Fringe Killer series, Shero, The Nameless Saga, and much more.
What do you get when you have 12 of the best zombie authors contributing to an anthology? You get 12 amazing stories and the real treat is all the stories have the same story outline. The authors then put their own spin to their stories and it makes for some very unique tales. A must read for anyone who loves the zombie/horror genre.
My favourite story was Night She Missed the Rock Show by Jay Wilburn, partly because it was a great story, partly because it was so different to the other stories so it stood out. I enjoyed the others too, and I'd hate to be stuck at a rock concert when the Apocalypse happens!
This book will make you think before you attend another concert. It bring the Horror home to roost. Middletown 3 :Metal Apocalypse. Jack Wallen and 11 others 11 12 2017
Brilliant. One scenario, twelve Author’s take on said scenario. Subject:The metal band FLXS gets caught up in the beginning of a zombie apocalypse. Very different stories with 12 voices and personal flavor of story telling. Very entertaining. It is hard to pick just a few favorites all were brilliantly done. Such a smörgåsbord of stories. From a teen sneaking out at night to go to a concert to a dastardly plan to set off a noxious gas over the concert goers and everything in between. This work of art was the Brain child of Jack Wallen, the Zombie King. All of the Authors are well established in the Horror and Zombie genre. For one this was her début zombie themed story and she excelled at it. Check out the body of work from all these Authors, you will not be disappointed, there is something for everyone.
