Jaxin Briggs— with her dimples, her pretty honey colored eyes, long and wavy hair and boyish style— preferred the shadows. Her golden pen and ability to describe a woman in the most sexiest and heart-throbbing ways wouldn’t allow her to stay hidden away from the world for long. Her writings piqued interests and moistened panties. As soon as her blogs were updated, they received hits that only one could imagine. Her inbox was full of young potentials who wanted to know her sex, her race, her particular preference of any woman. Yet, her eyes were set on young Phoenix— the enchantress that forced Jaxin to raise her pen and peck her keys to begin with. With a job opportunity on the line, Jaxin was able to live her deepest fantasies before leaving, but at what cost? Phoenix, with her own issues, doesn’t have a choice but to slip her hand inside her bottoms and only think of the stallion that came her way and left Florida behind. After four years, a proper steamy welcome home is supposed to be in order, but the pair get more than what they bargained for when the fickle walls of their reality come crashing down around them, having Jaxin to regret her choice to leave, and having Phoenix to question everything about their situation.
Has has always lived in the shadows until her writing gets noticed not only by her peers, but by the editor of an well established publication. Her life is about to change as steps out of the shadows and shows everyone who she really is. It seems that with this step she gets everything that she's everything that she's ever wanted. The girl that she's fantasized about since she was an adolescent and a writing career at XXL Magazine. Life gets complicated fast as she must leave the girl behind in order to pursue to her dreams. It gets even more complicated when she has more than one woman vying for her heart.
4 stars. I need a book two because wtf was that ending? So rude. This was so entertaining and I liked the writing quite a bit. I liked that it started with the characters in high school I thought that was an interesting choice. Phoenix and Jaxin were both interesting characters and I liked their chemistry though they were such a hot mess together at times but I enjoyed it. The ending left me wanting more and since this was written in 2017 and we are now in 2023 I doubt there will be a book two unfortunately but overall this was highly entertaining.
Well written with a great plot (p.s. I'm rooting for Layla)
To be honest, I haven't read many lesbian novels that actually have a great plot that doesn't rely on the sex scenes to carry the story. As a lesbian woman I was able to relate to each of the main characters and actually see parts of myself and my own story in each of them. This book is very deserving of a 5 star rating and I can't wait to read the next book. Peace and love to you Ms. Silver Jade.
This book was good. I loved Jax, she just had this aura about her that made her so likeable. I kind of want her to be with Phoenix but I kind of want her to explore her options. Phoenix has to get herself all the way together first before she could really commit to someone else. Can’t wait for part 2
This was a page turner. I loved Jax, her aura her attitude, everything. I feel like she is selling herself short by trying to fix Phoenix... you cant love someone and dont get your feeling reciprocated. I cant wait to see what happens in part 2
