Does the Stalker seek revenge, justice, or stolen jewels? The Stalker has tracked a target for thirty-nine years and won't be easily stopped by a pair of ship’s detectives. Now DNA profiling might lead to the target, endangering innocents along the way. Natalia and Jason work together on the cruise ship, Sea Mist, and they must stop the Stalker from harming identical twins onboard the ship! Hundreds of suspects are cruising the western Caribbean, including six sets of identical twins participating in the Twins Project.
It all began with the Jonestown Massacre of 1978. The supposed suicide of Jim Jones prompted an intense manhunt by his enforcement team, the Red Brigade, which honed skills needed to capture or kill the illusive prey. Who is the man the Stalker is seeking? Which pair of twins are in danger? Natalia and Jason accompany the twins on shore excursions, and discover that preventing a crime is more difficult than solving one. The partners work to unmask the culprit and protect the twins.
Will Natalia and Jason be able to stop a well-prepared assassin? DNA STALKER is an intense thriller combined with romance and mystery set in exotic destinations. The book is clean with limited violence and no “blush-worthy” scenes.
Sexy, stimulating, and suspenseful! DNA Stalker brings a historical twist to a modern tale with the sassy spies Natalie and Jason. Natalie and Jason must protect a pair of identical twins from their would-be stalker. Unfortunately, their twins are involved in a DNA twin project aboard a cruise ship. Among the six sets of twins and all the passengers and shipmates, they don't know who to protect and whom to suspect.
I was surprised and intrigued by the reference to the 1978 Jonestown Massacre in the backstory of this thriller. Her connection of the massacre to the twin project brought another layer to this thriller. And I love the sassy duo, Natalie and Jason. High seas adventure, indeed!
Ms. Rapp’s latest novel is a mystery staged aboard a cruise ship in the tradition of Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express. Much like Orient Express, Rapp’s nail-biting tension is developed from the sense that the danger is there, hidden in plain sight, amongst the reams of passengers. It’s the reader’s job to uncover it.
The story starts with a prologue that provides insight into the back story for the main mystery of the book. In it, a pregnant young woman, Kate, escapes from a cult while the father of her child, Drew, disappears without a trace. With Kate’s escape and the adoption of her twin baby boys, born months later, we are left with a complex mystery to unfold.
What I liked: The mystery which follows this prologue sets up a cat-and-mouse game regarding the Genetics Ultra, a research company with a seemingly devious purpose to their research, and the many sets of twins who are now on the cruise ship. Add into this a mysterious young woman named Natalia who has the ability to see ghosts and predict the future, the connections to the wayward son of Jim Jones (of Jonestown infamy) who we later discover to be Drew, and the plot is bubbling with heart-pounding thrills. Natalia knows there is a malevolent force on the ship and uses her ability to see ghosts, bits and pieces of the past, and still fewer glimpses of the future to stop it. The closed quarters of the ships amps up the tension for readers.
What I had issue with: Front-loading of information slows down the plot in the first few chapters, though readers who push through this slow section will recognize the purpose of this explanation later on. There are also multiple secondary characters – some of whom use aliases – causing some confusion for readers.
Overall, however, I think that there is plenty to enjoy in DNA Stalker and fans of the traditional mystery genre will enjoy it. If you enjoy Diane Rapp’s previous novels, check it out!

There are many books that use real life events as backdrops or plot points, but most of the time, those books do it in a way that is uninteresting or insincere. This book is not like that at all. It starts out telling us about a couple that was a part of the People’s Temple before the widely publicized tragedy took place. Fast forward to many years later and we meet up again with one of these people and see how their life has turned out. As the story unfolds and the pieces start to fall into place, it’s hard not to think that some of the story is plausible.
One thing to keep in mind is that this is the fourth installment in this series. However, you will easily be able to catch up, since the characters are written vividly, so you are unlikely to feel like you’re missing out on any parts of the story.
What makes this book really special is that it has a lot of different genre aspects. For example, there are supernatural, thriller, mystery, a little romance, and historical elements to this one, which happen to all merge together to make something quite entertaining.
My favorite thing is the relationship between Natalia and Jason, who seem to be able to connect with each other amazingly good, no matter the context or amount of time they have together.
This was such a novel plot. There were a few places where I thought there was too much info dump and the number of characters was difficult to keep straight at times but the twists kept it interesting.
This book really brings to light the questionable DNA. Is it fallible or is it 'set in stone'? I remember the Jonestown Massacre. This story brings that back to light and what some people will or will not do. Is it embeded in their DNA, or is it something taught and nutured? I enjoyed this story very much. I voluntarily reviewed ARC of this book. It really is great! The review is my own opinion.
I received a pre-publish e- book for free and voluntarily reviewed. This is the first book I have read written by Diane Rapp and was pleasantly surprised on how much I enjoyed the story. Stayed up way to late because I had a hard time putting it down. At this point we hear a lot about DNA testing and lots of people have been using it to find their ancestry. This story uses the DNA testing to track down twins separated at birth. The book has a full cast of characters so you might want to take a note to keep them all strait. This book is the fourth in a series but can be read very easily as a stand-alone but it did get me enough interested that I probably check out the earlier books. Lot of twist and turns. Think this book will appeal to a lot of people. At the end of the e-book is a section "Fact or Fiction" Definitely take the time to read these couple of pages. If you're my age you might remember some of these facts that happened in the sixties and seventies but younger generations might never have heard about it.

The book was a little slow starting but it was necessary information for the rest of the story. Ms Rapp starts with a real event that I do remember ( I was 14 at the time) and embellishes into a very intriguing story of both fact and fiction. She has obviously done her research well and has developed a story that was hard to put down. I especially like after the story she explains what are real places and events and what are total fiction. Very good read.
I received this as a pre-publish e-book for free and voluntarily reviewed it. This is the first book that I have read written by Diane Rapp. I really enjoyed it! I was so caught up in it that I didn't want to have to stop to get chores, appointments, etc... taken care of. I just wanted to get back to this book! I was also telling my Mom & others how interesting this book is. They were also intrigued.
I also have been considering having my DNA testing done to find out more about my heritage. This book makes you think about DNA testing in a different light. It does make you wonder if anything else is being done with your DNA sample that you are not aware of.
I also remember when this actually happened and how horrific it was to see the pictures on the news. I couldn't understand how/why it happened.
Diane did a great job with research and creating the characters. I was so caught up in the story that I felt as though I was watching it unfold, as if in a movie. I will probably read again, because I'm sure that I missed some of the details because I was so anxious to find out what was going to happen. Trying to figure out who was responsible for what also kept me guessing.
Great book all around and I definitely recommend it. The Fact or Fiction part at the back of book was excellent. Made it easy/very clear for reader to know which parts are actual history and what is true fiction.
A woman, with nearly an army of people behind her, has been stalking a man for almost forty years without any success at catching him. However she finally sees her chance to seize him, when sets of identical twins, who had been separated at birth are brought together through DNA testing. The woman feels sure that the man will appear on-board the cruise ship hosting the event, in an attempt to see the boys he has never had a chance to see before. The story has several exciting twists and turns as Natalie, a psychic and her boyfriend, Jason, both experienced at undercover work, set out to foil the stalkers' plans. But will they be able to stop them in time? I found this to be a really enjoyable mystery. Highly recommended.
