“It was the best of texts, it was the worst of texts …”

From accidentally propositioning a friend’s mom for a ball massage to finding a booger in a cup of coffee, We’re Not Write offers a variety of hilarious anecdotes between siblings, Cass and C.C. Bear witness to their crazy digital correspondence, insults, and major life faux pas in this laugh-out-loud collection.

From Chapter 3: The Prince of Darkness

"Alright, sir. I'm calling the number now. Who can I say is calling collect?"
"The Prince of Darkness"
"Excuse me, sir?"
"Just tell her it's the Prince of Darkness. She knows who I am and what I'm capable of."
"Oh, my goodness. Um, OK. Please hold."

Cass Alexander is the pen name of a Southern born and bred public school teacher. Her brother, who insists she address him as, The Prince of Darkness, gave her the nom de plume after warning Cass that her book’s content may scar her sons for life.

She’s a connoisseur of fine humor, hilarious insults, and all things chocolate, preferably dark (like her humor). Oh, and wine. Let’s not forget the wine. Cass also enjoys running. It’s become crucial to her survival, due to her consumption of wine and chocolate.

Cass’s mission in life is to spread the love and the laughter, goodness knows it’s needed. It’s why she wrote The Persimmon Series.

She and her family now reside in the Midwest, where hardly anyone other than Cass says the words, y’all and holler.

That is all. For now.

How do you thank two twisted souls for showing you that, no, your family isn’t the only one that needs a few adjustments, a little counseling and some social etiquette training? For that matter, maybe we are okay and it’s the rest of the world that has issues, because laughter can be the best medicine and being able to laugh with/at ourselves is priceless! Having a cohort in crime, I mean really, can it get any better, especially knowing that your share the same blood, genetics and by the grace of the Fates, you have been granted the opportunity to pass these gifts on to future generations?

C.C. Edwards and Cass Alexander, thank you from the bottom of my aching stomach muscles for validating that some of the “stuff” that comes into my brain, or heaven forbid, out of my mouth at the most inappropriate times is not an illness, but life!

If you are looking to play invited voyeur into the texts and conversations of two siblings dealing with life, love and the pursuit of happiness, WE’RE NOT WRITE goes beyond the realm of entertaining and straight into the Twilight Zone of comedic familial love!
Bonus: Easy to remember tidbits make for great party fodder, although serving them up at the after worship fellowship teas isn’t endorsed by this reviewer. Clearly the perfect gift for that person on your gift list who has everything, because they already bought it for themselves.

I am voluntarily reviewing this complimentary ARC copy!
