A prolific children's author from India, Swapna Dutta has been publishing stories in newspapers and magazine for four decades, and has written many books for young readers, in a variety of genres. She was awarded a National Fellowship for literature by the Ministry of Human Resources in 1986, and a National Award for creative writing in Hindi by the Central Hindi Directorate in 1993. She has also received a number of Children's Book Trust Awards for short story, one-act-play and picture books (in English, Hindi and Bengali).

The third book in the Juneli series doesn't disappoint. A spooky ruin, a missing inheritance and an intriguing heiress are great elements in the story, and of course Juneli and her friends. Juneli is a most appealing heroine.
