In Methods of Teaching Computer Science Professor Rajasekar has dealt with the subject in a comprehensive and compact way. The presentation is logical. Further he has adopted the decimal notation to make the structure of the content clear. The content covers latest developments in peripherals. At the end of chapters he has given 'Suggested Activities' wherever appropriate. The author has handled the articulation of the interface between computers and teaching systematically and skillfully thanks to his thorough understanding of both the domains. He has covered the three levels of application of computers in teaching and learning-programmed learning, CAl and CMI. Then he has dealt with the methods of teaching computer science. The chapters on curriculum and evaluation are again clear, compact and comprehensive. The chapter on 'Textbooks in Computer Science' will help teachers to select the most suitable titles for classroom use. The chapter on 'Assignment and Review' provides practical guidelines. The Bibliography at the end is at once compact and fairly comprehensive. The author has made a review of the titles in the field and has brought together in a single volume topics most important for teachers and also filled the gaps. He has given photographs, pictures and diagrams which add to the clarity of the content presented and enhance the value of the book.
