Voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book.

New author for me. I actually read something similar to this book this last week. Just different take on it.

First, there is no sex in this book. Just kissing. I think it was supposed to be funny and I think it was at the very beginning and then it just wasn't humorous after that. I liked Liam but he's written kind of like a young adult. He's in his late 90s for a vampire that's fairly young but kinda not since he's experienced many things. He's not off to a great start with women. He prefers human women as opposed to female vampires or any other supernatural. He's having awful luck and tends to drain them accidentally. Meeting Georgia was different he still wanted to have a taste but he stopped himself from taking too much. She's pretty comfortable to a point with supernaturals because her BFF is a newly turned vamp, Ro. I had trouble with Liam and Georgia. They just didn't seem to mesh well. A lot of back and forth with them. She came off pretty standoffish to me. Not exactly sweetness and light. She's kinda cruel to him although a small part of that is because of Liam's ex psycho vamp girlfriend, Mor put the whammy on her. Even so some of that was Georgia herself. I liked Diablo he was actually what was funny about this book. Without him as such a fun character I don't think it would have worked for me. I also think the story was discombobulated. A few different things going on in different directions. The end was so very confusing. Everything seemed fine until I read Chapter 11 with the only phrase for that chapter, "Have you lost your mind? I nearly killed you!" Ok....I am not sure who is even speaking. I don't know what the hell happened but the whole fight just stopped! I think it was Mor speaking but I am unsure. Mor just walks away and disappears and says "Oh, I'll be back." Err doesn't make a whole lot of sense for the flow of it all. She went through all that just to walk away and let them live. Also, as much as Georgia was tossed around and her body broken she sure as hell healed awful fast! Uh wha? She's human sooo how did she walk away with just soreness and being tired when they got back to his place? There are some definite issues with the book as far as making sense at the end.

Saying all that it was an ok book. I didn't hate it but didn't love it. I think if the end made more sense to me and the fact the characters were better written to work together instead of against I'd enjoy it a lot more. Liam and Georgia were too much at odds for me to root for them to be together. I expect some fighting and stubbornness in my characters and I love strong women but to be honest this was a little much. I think many will like this book and honestly thats what its about. You can't please all readers. So, give this a try once it releases.

Vampire Needs a Date
By Briar Deverd
Review

Vampire Needs a Date was a fun book to read. The opening scene is a vampire, Liam, looking for a date. He wants a date, but he was a problem. His dates don’t go beyond a first date because he eats them. The dates he wants are humans, which he sees as food. Liam explains to his friend, Diabolo, it’s like you dating a roast.
The tension between the woman he loves, Georgia, and the desire to take a bite out of her. Liam sees her as food, and as an equal or lover.
Briar Deverd wrote an interesting book. It’s a horror book with humor mixed in. It has romance between Georgia and Liam. This book has werewolves, demons, vampires, and elves. The only thing I didn’t see was angels.
Deverd placed all the paranormal creatures in human places like bars, nightclubs, and restaurants. Some eat like humans from animals. This is what I loved about Vampire Needs a Date it’s not your normal horror story or book. It has spice, which makes it unique. I recommend it.

A very short enjoyable story. Not having a date in so long he goes to a dating agency for others like him. He is a vampire. He goes to a mixer and meets Georgia a human. He can't help himself and takes a bite out of her. Along with his other troubles he has fun with this and his ex. Not easy for a vampire to find the right date. I had a lot of fun reading this. I recommend it. I was given a review copy by reading deals and voluntarily review it.

A good story.

I enjoyed this story. Liam and Georgia are a good couple, although love does not run smoothly for a vampire and human romance. There are complications, including Liam's crazy ex. Diablo is my favorite as the demon who owns a paranormal dating agency. A lot of humor and danger fill these pages.
