The genesis factor

Rate this book
This popular book explores the interactions of genes and social behavior, showing how it is often true that "my genes made me do it"! Wallace approaches sociobiology with a lighter touch than is usually found in mass market science offerings, making the subject easy to understand and the book a delight to read. Sure to start as many lively debates with this reissue as it did originally, The Genesis Factor explains the ideas behind such popular reads as "Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus" and provides plenty of ammunition for the age old 'battle of the sexes."

A fascinating introduction to the science of sociobiology. Sadly, though, it's a lot less intelligent than I remembered it being; not that it's badly done, but a lot of the ideas are sloppy and not too well-thought-through. Apparently my 17-year-old self filled in the blanks for him.
