This text is not so much a short story as a tantalising bit of bait for a longer series of novels. I'm not so sure how I feel about this ... On the one hand there are interesting characters and relationships, despite the huge jumps fastforwarding the narrative from chapter to chapter. On the other hand, there is the military background which may prevent me from progressing with the series. And the very obvious incomplete ending, leaving an information gap one would usually want to fill. We'll see.

A quickie

Basically a setup piece for the next novel. Think of it a Dennis’ back story. No real drama except for the parents. What’s with Jay and parents? A lot of familiar names from previous books made me a bit confused. I don’t believe they’re the same characters... 3.0 for ?

So okay I am so confused because I assume that Dennis was going to end up with Kevin in the end. But the whole time; that’s not what even happened it’s like it took a whole different turn to Dennis going to the military and was hiding his true self but finally told his parents about being GAY.

That’s where I felt bad for him because his father was a horrible man. But regardless of that. And what happened with his parents was still a loss. Because when he was a grown man.

I guess Kevin - was gay too because the person he messed with the name was Justin but he said it was Kevin.. so I assume that Kevin may have given out a fake name so people wouldn’t know it was him.

I don’t know. This book left me at a post. But not only that it had me curious as to what was going to happen next. So with the way that book one ended. I had to go ahead and get book two and start on it...

Unsatisfying

This is cheap, so the fact that there are some mistakes can be forgiven. But the whole thing was not a fulfilling experience. It seemed the chapters were to quick to end compared to the slow tone, and it didn't have and ending.
Also, the behavior of the characters was not well described or matching expectations.

Overall 2 out of 5. I've read worse things, but I've also read better things for free.

Very interesting story line. I enjoyed the characters and the believability of the story plot.
There were twist and the parent reactions were very sad but true many of the times. Love eddy his strength and loyalty. I thought he would fall for his best friend and visa versa. Maybe a new story plot🤔.

Growing pains

This is what happens when teenagers are confronted with reality and especially in if they are gay in a society that is so judgemental.

A good book!

A typical coming out story. Tells his parents he's gay and gets kicked out of the house. But he is in the marines.

Jay Argent tells a good story. I just wish this wasn't a brief 'cliffhanger' book. I believe it's intended more as an introduction.

To be honest I really liked this short story, liked that it wasn't sexual.
