Angry at being forced to decide which of his divorcing parents will get custody of him, Chester is further burdened with guilty feelings about the parent he is leaving behind
It's been about a decade since I had read this book, if not more. I can't say I remember what it's been like, reading it, but as far back as I can recall, Pillow of Clouds may well be the first novel I've read, maybe even subsequently getting me into books. I think that the subject must've really resonated with me as a kid, without even being conscious of it.
I don't have much to say about the story, but I still value this book for some reason. Until I can get my hands on it again, for now I can at least credit it for getting me to like books i guess.
This is a really interesting book. It explains what young children go through when their parents get divorced. I think it could help a lot of young kids when they have to go through this, for they can feel like they have someone they can relate to. Also, in this book the child has to pick which parent he wants to live with, and he is only 13 years old. Not only could this book help children, but it could also help divorced parents so they can see a child's perspective and what the child has to go through.
I thought that this book could relate to me in multiple levels. I loved how the author acted like an artist when explaining descriptions. I could vision the scene in my mind like a script.
