In My Journey with Bernie, Kacey Carpenter shares his personal story and lessons learned from people he met during the campaign, at caucuses and primaries, and conventions. During his journey, he gains trust in the power of people with renewed optimism for "A Future to Believe In."

"Look it's not about me, it's about us, and when we stand together we can do anything," Bernie Sanders tells the volunteers at the Reno Rally in December 2015, pointing his finger directly at me, Kacey recalls, urging all of us to do more. "At that moment, Kacey says, "I feel the Bern."

Soon, he is co-leading 300 people from 30 states to go to Iowa for the first Democratic Party caucus to begin a journey traveling around the country and the world.

My Journey with Bernie is an adventure and reads like a "roller coaster ride" with incredible highs, steep drops, and lows with inspirational, uplifting stories about the people who are bringing enthusiasm, hope, and leading a new political revolution.

About the author

I'm Kacey Carpenter, an author, educator, and community builder based in Oregon.

I write stories that matter, help people learn, and do some good along the way. My books include the National Park Mystery-Thriller series, beginning with Do Not Die Today, set in Joshua Tree, and Murder in Vacationland, set in Acadia National Park. I'm also the author of The Fight We're In: Organizing for Power and Change, Ready, Set, Go! Playbook for Campaigns, Candidates, and Causes, and *My Journey with Bernie.

I love exploring the outdoors, teaching Nature-Inspired Writing at Portland Community College, and bringing people together through writing, reading, and community service. My stories often explore the places we visit, the people we meet, and the mysteries and possibilities we discover along the way.

When I'm not writing, I'm exploring Oregon with Wilbur, my Chiweenie, reading, teaching, and working with people and organizations trying to make a difference.

A political revolution always requires a lot or volunteer work done by a lot of people, and My Journey with Bernie is a history book that provides a real idea of what a soon-to-volunteer individual is in for. My Journey with Bernie has a wealth of information for anyone who has not been involved directly in a national campaign, and the author provides an invaluable list of suggestions for effective campaigning that every campaign worker for any level of public office should read to deploy. Effective campaign tactics are key and essential for winning elections. The last chapter alone is worth the price of this book.
