Eye on Nixon: A Photographic Study of the President and the Man

Rate this book
“The point is, both in text and in picture selection, this book tries neither to create nor dispel images but rather to capture my father as I have known him. If every photograph showed the President looking marvelous or like a genius, it would be dishonest, and my father would be the first to be embarrassed by it.”

Interesting photo selection of Nixon’s first term, with witty captions by William Safire. Some fascinating shots of Nixon with the likes of Mao, Haile Selassie, Franco and Tito, as well as more intimate portraits of him with his family and working solo. Published before the 1972 election, this book shows Nixon in his best light before it all went to shit.
