I write romance and mysteries, although romance writing has taken a back seat to my mysteries! The first book in my Bread & Batter cozy mystery series, Bun For Your Life came out November 2015, and the 2nd book, Raisin The Dead was released April 2016. Both from Penguin/Intermix. The 3rd book, It Cannoli Be Murder, came out on October 17th! It's published by Summer Prescott Books.

I’ve live in lots of different places during my life. At the moment, I’m in a small Connecticut town with my husband. When I’m not writing, I’m either reading, spending time by the water, traveling, indulging in social media, accompanying above-mentioned husband to New York Yankees games, or doing anything that does not involve math.

I hope you enjoy reading my books as much as I’ve enjoyed writing them!

A Double Murder Mystery

When Molly's mom has a reunion to benefit the Mellon School, two of the most distinguished alumni, twin sisters turn up dead. Rachel at the event and Melanie across town in the house she rented. And a strange woman pushes past Molly and Olivia who are delivering the desserts.

And a reputed member of the mafia has purchased a local winery and turned up just in time for the murders. And to top it off is wining and dining Emily, one of Molly's good friends.
To help solve the case Molly works with her cousin while Sean is on another assignment.

I enjoyed the story yet I have to admit this was not my favorite. Only because Molly decides to go to her cousin Andy, and asks him to officially include her in the investigation.
For me that took away most of the fun of Molly sticking her nose in where it doesn't belong. The characters as always are great and the solution to the murder was one that snuck up on you and all of a sudden it's, why didn't I see that before. The book ending of course was perfect and I can't wait for the next installment.

The Bread and Batter series is a favorite of mine. I thoroughly enjoyed this new edition, It Cannoli Be Murder, Book 3. Molly, owner of the Bread and Batter also has the reputation of being a noted crime solver. Two murders in the beautiful town of Destiny helped her earn the “Nancy Drew” title and unfortunately as she and her partners are catering a party, a guest is found murdered and by midnight a second. The odd coincidence continues because the victims are twin sisters, in Destiny for a reunion. Molly has asked to assist the department and her offer is accepted.

I love the setting, characters and storylines in Karoline’s Bread and Batter series. I especially love the ending of It Cannoli Be Murder. A great series!

“It Cannoli Be Murder” earns 5/5 Cream-filled Cannolis…no Kale!

I am now a fan! Karoline Barrett has penned a well-written and entertaining book with Molly Tyler’s first-person perspective. Her story is the epitome of the ‘cozy mystery’ genre and exactly what cozy fans, like myself, love. Although I am a newbie, I never felt lost since enough background and character connections were revisited to keep me up to speed. We have Destiny, New York, where the Bread and Batter Bakery is doing quiet well for co-owners and BFFs Molly Tyler and Olivia Willams who’ve become the ‘go-to’ place for special functions like bachelorette parties, winery grand openings, and school benefits. Molly’s mother has hired the bakery to cater desserts for her Mellon School for Girls benefit, and with the guests including a few celebrity alumnae, she hopes their attendance will garner much needed donations. However, Karoline’s clever story throws in a piercing scream, the police on their way, and a senator shot dead. She’s not finished layering the tale by supplying another murder, a mysterious suspect, a keychain, cybergangs, suspected mob head, and investigations in between baking bagels, breads, muffins, doughnuts, and cupcakes. Wow, I highly recommend this book! And don’t forget the extras…I always look forward to practical tips, informative details, or easy-to-follow recipes. Karoline provides us the perfect treats: Cherry Limeade Cupcakes with Cherry Lime Compote and frosted with Cherry Buttercream and Blackberry Buttermilk Cupcakes, Buttermilk Pastry Cream, Blackberry Compote, and Vanilla Buttercream. Each cupcake includes specific Cupcake Assembly directions. This book and the Bread and Batter Cozy Mystery series cannot be missed!

Things are in full swing in Destiny, Sean is working every hour available (but still manages to spend some time with Molly), there is a new Italian man in town (he bought the vineyard) and Bread and Batter are up to their elbows in flour catering for a party for the vineyard (cupcakes and cannolis for 500 guests!), catering for a charity benefit and running the business as well.

The benefit goes with a bang, literally, as a corpse is found in the ladies bathroom! and for some reason Sean actually wants Molly's involvement this time - so attached to the police and baking cupcakes .... easy!

Molly and Olivia agree to help Molly’s mom out by catering desserts for a fundraiser being held at a local hotel. The evening has barely begun when the body of a famous attendee is found in one of the hotel’s restrooms. The weekend gets even worse when the sister of the first victim is found dead in her home.
Molly’s mother pushes her to get involved in the murder investigation. Despite being overwhelmed with work Molly agrees. She finds herself looking to a high profile client for assistance.
This is the third book in the Bread and Batter Series. This series is terrific and this book did not disappoint. The characters in the book are well-written. The main characters are likeable. I enjoy the setting of quiet Destiny, New York. It is the kind of small lakeside town I want to visit. I can’t wait until the next book comes out and I recommend this book. I think you should read the series from the beginning, but this book can stand alone.

Twin sisters die on the same day across town from each other. One obviously murdered the other could be suicide or murder. A winery now owned by a perported mob member, is he involved in these deaths? Can the local bakery owner cater the mobsters desserts for his grand opening and solve these crimes?

A well written book with various story lines intersecting at just the right point to come to a surprise ending.

I was over the moon to see this series picked up by another publisher.
Book three picks up and continues on!
This book sees the return of the characters I have grown to love. The whodunit kept me guessing and I could not put the book down.
All the ingredients of a great cozy are found in this book.
I highly recommend this book and look forward to reading the next in the series.

It Cannoli Be Murder was a fun book, peopled with a group of characters who are realistic and human (except for the dogs, who are adorably canine). And just when I thought I'd figured out who the killer was, I quickly learned I was wrong, wrong, wrong! Bottom line: Karoline Barrett has penned another delicious read!

Holy Cannoli

Bread and Butter is back and better than ever. I read the first two books and fell in love with the characters and this one is even better. I can see myself reading about these awesome friends for years to come.

Absolutely loved it

This was fantastic. I had an idea as to who the killer was but must couldn't figure out the why. I love the way things are headed for Molly and Sean. I look forward to book 4.

I loved this book. It's the 3rd in the series and I haven't read the first 2 yet, but, I don't feel that kept me from understanding the characters. It's a long book which I personally prefer and I will definitely be reading the first 2 books in the series.

This is the third book in the Bread and Batter series, and the first one I have read. I really enjoyed it. Molly and Olivia own the bakery together, but Molly seems to have a sideline: Helping the police solves murders in their small town of Destiny, New York. This book has so much to keep a reader entertained and I didn't want to put the book down. Saying much here might ruin the book for others, but let it be known that murder and a member of the mob showing up in town is just a small part!
