John P. Davis started collecting children's books when he was a small boy and it’s a hobby he continues to this day. John started writing and illustrating children's books because he fell in love. Valentine’s Day was fast approaching and he couldn’t think of a gift to get his girl. While reading a Dr. Seuss book, a thought came to him. Why not write and illustrate a children’s book expressing how much he loved her? The book was a smash hit (at least with the one person that mattered, his girl). With the encouragement of his family he has continued to write and illustrate more and more children's books. John gets inspiration from his family, most of the people in his books bear a striking resemblance to various family members. Oh and by the way, the girl that was his inspiration for book number one is now his wife and they are living happily ever after!
