I can’t thank Kathleen Shaputis enough for the enjoyable hours spent reading Their Witch Wears Plaid, the third book in her Baillie Castle series. On one hand, this story is a lighthearted read, loveable, funny characters, wonderful descriptive scenery of Scotland, castles, and a very handsome ghost who pops in at will. I loved our heroine Nell from the start. Her special ability—sorry—no spoilers—has always fascinated me. Ms. Shaputis did a great job bringing those abilities to life in her character, making me believe and fear for Nell. That brings me to the suspense in Their Witch Wears Plaid. One moment I thought I figured it out, and then the next page completely confused me. There’s an intriguing love interest in this story. Am I supposed to love her knight in his shining armor or want Nell to have nothing to do with him? It’s a fun ride to the last page. Last, I can’t say enough about our evil villain who is out to wreck havoc on anyone who stands in his way. Ms. Shaputis did a marvelous job keeping me second guessing just who the villain really is and what he is after.
If you are looking for a fun, fast read where you laugh one moment and hold your breath the next, you can’t go wrong with Their Witch Wears Plaid. I highly recommend this book.
