A Native American Fiction full of adventure and romance. Great feats of the warlike Arapaho arise as Jedidiah Bracket faces obstacles and becomes the great Arapaho Warrior and Lance Bearer, Crow Killer.
Eighteen hundred and forty nine, western Nebraska Territory, the crossing of the North Platte was rough. Jedidiah Bracket fell headfirst into the raging waters of the river and survived only to find himself surrounded by hostile Arapaho warriors.
One warrior wanted to kill him, but after discovering the mark of the Arapaho Lance on his back, he was taken back to their village. Jed was treated with respect and taught the passage of manhood into the Arapaho Lance Bearers by the one warrior that hated him most, Walking Horse. Taught the language and nursed back to health by Walking Horse's woman, the beautiful Little Antelope, Jed had many trials to overcome.

My grandson suggested that I read this book. I thought it was a school assignment but it seems that his dad had just bought some beagles from the author and he was curious about this series. I just started book 5 “Blood on the Lance “ I hope my enjoyment of the Crow Killer series will encourage Garrett to read. He is almost 15 and would rather be outdoors but his curiosity is apparent. Thank you for writing these life like books about our American Indians. And hopefully these books will turn Garrett into a reader
I enjoy reading western books like this one. It puts the life of the Native Americans as any people trying to live their lifestyle as they want to,and rightly deserved to do so. I will certainly be reading more.
This has to be one of the best American Indian stories I've ever read! It was well written, full of action and totally realistic as to the ways of the individuals and the lands they lived in. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more from this author! I had a hard time putting it down. I can't recommend it enough! Read it, you'll be glad you did!
An AD Western Novel About A Young White Man Raised by Indians
AD has penned a western novel about a young man who, when crossing a river, is knocked out and later rescued by the Arapaho Indians. He is trained in the way of life for Indians and exceeds the tribal needs in what is expected as a warrior. He fights the other tribes with reckless abandon. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS
As a wagon train traveled West a young stepson was constantly tormented by his step brothers. As they crossed a river he was pushed out of the wagon and left to die. He was found by a war party and taken to their village. There he found a home and was accepted into the tribe. He became a fierce warrior but still had the conscience of the white man. Enjoying this series.
Looks like its going to be a good series. Jedidiah Bracket lost in a river crossing on a wagon train. Found and adopted by the Arapaho tribe, grows into one of their greatest warriors.

I love these stories by this author! They tell a good story and have lots of action in them! He makes you feel like you could go out on a trail ride and find those beautiful spots with no effort!
So well written! There was not one chapter that lacked suspense love and friendship. Makes me proud of my Native blood. If only we had followed the Indian way. Our world, it would be a better country. Very well written and very much enjoyed.
Good to read of people who owned the land before the [civilized] butchers arrived. Honor and family seemed important to them. I look forward to reading more.

Absolutely superb, I am so enjoying this first book. I know I shall read all of them. It is simply written, inspiring and informative. I cannot wait to see what happens next.
This is a good book, with a great story line about a young white boy who gets separated from his family, who are traveling with a wagon train .He gets thrown out of the wagon into a flooded river, and carried downstream a long distance before he can get to shore.
A fun and exciting story of a white boy who joins the Arapaho to become a formidable warrior. Good writing for a frolic, could have used a bit more editing for typos.
