How do I deal with the fact that my partner makes more money—or has a better job, or owns the home we live in, or is more educated—than I am?

These are but a few of the questions that Waller has heard over and over again as he’s counseled thousands of men, many of whom seek a new set of skills to thrive in modern society. In this eye-opening and inspirational book, Waller draws from his Christian teachings and the lessons he’s learned from martial arts and extreme adventures to offer men innovative strategies to help them fight today’s challenges in ways that affirm their manhood. He offers ten crucial and accessible life tenets such prioritize the immediate threat then handle first things first; conserve your resources; and you can survive fear and pain. Code of the Righteous Warrior empowers us to live our best life and rise above any difficulties we may face.

I loved this merging of a little of testament, old world, new world, and a tinge of new age thinking to come up with a very good set of maxims to live by. I think people will erroneously interpret this book as Christian preaching but the author actively explains he is only speaking from that perspective and is fair in his words and political correctness. I am amazed the author doesn't market this book in the vein of military self-help "warrior" books given he says he is an Israeli Krav Maga program graduate and did seal survival courses for fun. The stories he shares were not as compelling as I wished they were to portray each law, but rightfully so they are simple stories from regular people overcoming life obstacles. I will say at least a fourth of the text felt redundant to me, but the main takeaways are rich for mining for a long time. I've been given a lot to ponder about how a man should live in this world that is increasingly making humans irrelevant.
