Everyone knows Thylacines are extinct. The truth is more complicated.

Thylacines are real but the secret that hides their existence has trapped them in a half-life, and only one person can set them free.

Sent to live in Tasmania, Australia, with a father she’s never met, Ginny Martin’s mission is to lay low and get through the school year. That is until she sees that first ghostly creature. Refusing to believe she’s going crazy, Ginny will not stop until she’s unearthed the truth behind the silver apparitions.

The search pulls Ginny into a world that shouldn’t exist. A world that is being threatened. Someone has found the Thylacines and is killing them.

As Ginny struggles to unravel a century-old mystery that holds the key to their freedom, the answers bring her to the killer’s attention. In a clash between worlds, where exposing the truth means death, is Ginny prepared for the cost of keeping the Thylacines safe?

A YA story of epic proportions!

I loved all the characters, the main character, Ginny, especially. The plot was not only well-developed but wonderfully original. The level of descriptions were so in depth that the characters came to life beautifully. There's nothing better than picking up a book where the story comes to life and plays out like a movie.

Be sure to check out this incredible shifter story today.

Always nice to read a book that gives a whole new spin on an old favourite genre. If you like your stories with a unique Australian flavour and you enjoy books involving shifters and magic then you will love this story.

Don't you love that feeling when you come across a new author, read their work for the first time and your left far from disappointed.

Sent to live with her father in Tasmania, Ginny was about to embark on a journey of some major self discovery that all started on the day she stepped foot into the local tattoo shop.

Far from being 'predictable', Extinct was a book that grabbed your attention from the very beginning and was a serious page turner. It also gives a total different spin on animal shifters with an opening for more to to be told in this story.

Loved this book, it was an easy read that followed brilliantly and I look forward to reading more from this author.

This is one of the books that make you think “Just one more chapter” and when you look up again, you have finished the books and a few hours have passed.
This new to me author has blown my expectations out of the window. I was intrigued when I read the blurb and curious when I started the book. Ginny was seeing things? That was new and what followed after the seeing of things was not only new, it was an exceptional plot that made me want more and more and more. More of the Tasmanian wildlife and nature, more of the conspiracy theories and more of the suspense that held me in its grips till I was finished and made me yearn for more.
The writing style was exceptional. It led me through the, sometimes complicated, story without confusing me and supported the plotline perfectly. There were no plotholes or differences that made me stumble or stop me in my reading flow. I read this book in one flow, because I couldn’t put it down and that was not only because of the plot but also due to the writing style.
I really enjoyed this book and will wait impatiently for the next one and will definitely read other books by this author. I can’t wait to see what he made out of other ideas, since they are so unique and individual.
An absolute recommendation from me for everyone who likes his YA laced with a bit of PNR and twists and turns that make your head spin.

I found this via a friend mentioning that they’d discovered an YA urban fantasy set in Australia. Immediate intrigue! And not just any part of Australia but Tasmania!

It’s been quite awhile since I’ve read about humans with shifter abilities but I was soon hooked on the different threads of the story, from Ginny being sent away to live with a father that she didn’t know, struggling with schoolwork due to dyslexia, making friends, finding a job and then getting caught up in a murder investigation due to an ability to draw future events that was rooted in the past - this story had a bit of everything, even a microfiche reader!

I suspect that this will be the first of a series and I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next.

Well written and easy to understand. The storyline kept me intrigued throughout and I didn’t want the story to end.
Ginny is sent to Australia to live with her dad after her step-father passed. Not knowing about her gift, she starts to see silver apparitions and has no idea what they are. Pulled into a new life with creatures she knows nothing about, Ginny’s life is in danger from many different groups. This story has everything you’re looking for in a paranormal book, we’ve got shifters, witches, and secret government agencies. What’s not to love!

This is an amazing book! I was hooked from the very beginning right through to the incredible ending. I loved every minute of it! It’s written really well, flows nicely, has an exciting storyline, and has some twists and turns. It’s hard to write about this book without giving too much away, but if you enjoy books about animal shifters (and are open to Aussie animal shifters) and love books set in Australia (Tasmania in particular), you are in for a real treat! Highly recommended reading.
