I found this book in a thrift store and couldn’t wait to read it. Dottie Rambo’s songs have always been an inspiration to me, so I was excited to read Reba’s book. Even though her experiences and ultimate triumphs through her faith in Christ was very inspiring, knowing she and her husband divorced in 2019 has left a disappointing question mark for me. To be honest, it would have been better if she had never written this book at all. Her second divorce only give’s satan another tool to spread discouragement.

When I began reading this book I had expectations that were different than my actual experience. I was thinking it would be a light read about the life of one of my favorite gospel singers from my teen years. Boy was I wrong. It told the story of her life alright, but it was not light by any means. I had no idea of the hell she went through and how much God had transformed her and her husbands life. It just goes to show you never know what is truly going on in the life of a person when all you see is the outward appearance. I have always love the Rambo's, but I think I love Reba more now because I can see the human side of her and how transformation is possible on any level.
