An Urban Post-Apocalyptic Thriller. If Ophelia had known Grace Vincent, she might have hated her— but only to hide a secret yearning, one hidden from herself for so long. This desire to love and be loved was covered up by a darkness, a thing called fear, though the monsters then were apparitions of a broken, lingering past, and not even real. They’re real now. But I’m no longer afraid. At least, not like I was then, back when I was hiding behind Ophelia. I have a little soul to protect now, and I must be strong. It doesn’t mean I’m cured of my afflictions, though. I wish it did. As the dead roam above us, the ones inside me claw to be set free. I’ve made so many mistakes, and guilt is one of those, gnawing at me, catapulting the nightmares that take my loves away from me again, and again, every time I close my eyes.
Nothing could’ve prepared us for what we found a mile beneath the Earth. A sanctuary? A home? A place to test my ability to harness my demons? Check. That one, I know for sure. A dangerous place filled to the brim with vicious, blood-thirsty creatures? Crossing my fingers it’s a “no” on that one. But from what I can tell, Logan’s words at CVS were as true then as they are now: It’s a permanent motherf**ing opposite day.
So why did Gideon send me here? What are the truths behind his lies? Will I find them here? Will he find me here? Will I be able to keep Missy safe? Will I be safe from the dark tunnels of my own mind?
All that’s left now, is to hope . . . and to survive.
*Content Advisory/Trigger Warning**
Tunnels and Planes/The Night Blind Saga is a dark apocalyptic series with some very steamy, sometimes rather dark F/F scenes, M/F scenes, and other mixes (later books in series). In these books you will find a buffet of language, gore, drug use, violence, assault/abuse, and a bunch of other stuff of this nature. If you don’t ingest your literature occasionally (or often) on the edge, gritty, in the dark, and/or possibly in a random stairwell, this series may not be right for you. *Recommended for mature readers 18+ *Those sensitive to the topics of angel babies and sexual assault should read at their own risk. *Not recommended for those with PTSD (though the main character herself suffers from PTSD, so... your call) *The books in this series may contain possible cliffhangers *HEA *Book four, "Gideon's Lies," releases early 2018. There will be six books in the series, with the final two out next year as well. To be notified as soon as they become available, sign up for my newsletter.
*If you’d prefer gritty, but cleaner (no sex), check out my best-selling YA Dystopian Scifi Horror series, “The Treemakers Trilogy.”
Christina L. Rozelle is the author of the bestselling YA Dystopian Scifi series, The Treemakers Trilogy, which includes her groundbreaking debut, “The Treemakers,” and its sequels, “The Soultakers,” and “The Seeker’s Keys.” Hailed for its strong, believable, and relatable characters, original and complex plotting, and phenomenal world-building, The Treemakers Trilogy appeals to lovers of dystopian literature who are looking for something refreshing and new.
Rozelle’s writing roots sprouted with poetry and prose in countless journals in her early years, continuing through her tumultuous teenage years, and well into her turbulent young adult life. Though her younger self dreamed of scribing non-fiction and poetry someday, when she discovered the magic in creating fiction she never looked back. Overcoming countless obstacles of her own, the wisdom gained along her personal path through healing breathes life into her beautifully dark, yet hopeful tales of triumph. Filled with an array of emotional triggers, not many topics are off limits in her works. Rozelle’s exceptional storytelling dives deep into the survival and growth journeys of diverse, broken characters and unlikely heroes. Authentic, gritty, intricate, and wildly imaginative, her stories also offer hope—a light in the dark—as her characters discover their own inner strengths and worth in the midst of debilitating adversity.
Though her wanderlust calls her to a nomadic life of traveling the world in planes, trains, ships, and RVs, Christina happily resides in a small town in Colorado, USA, with her children.
Holy effing whaaaat?! This author! SMH….LOL! I AM HOOKED! THIS IS MY ADDICTION! This installment of the series has really shown the dark and gritty but with the perfect amount of humanity. I am not really sure what I was expecting when the group arrives at the Tunnels, but this version is waaaaaay different in the best twisted and raw way. The author never ceases to amaze me in the way these characters have been developing. They are in a constant turmoil of doing what’s right and what’s right for them. The emotions and feelings are very intense. This isn’t just another zombie book where the survivors are just trying to survive. This series is taking it to the next level. You have a community that is safe in the tunnels and is absolutely perfect. But sometimes these are only illusions and there are a lot of smoke and mirrors in this particular place. Grace and company are in a place where they can thrive in several different ways depending on what they are willing to do. There is never a dull moment in this story. From the time they get there, through middle of the story and right up to the end you will be on the edge of your seat fanning yourself, cringing, needing a tissue, and rooting for the good guys (whoever they may be). It’s an action packed, heart thumping helluva ride! Go read this now
Once again Rozelle weaves a heart wrenching, complex, totally absorbing tale that takes your breath away. There is so much action and emotion in this book that it’s hard to describe just how good of a story it is. It picks up from where book two finishes, but as Grace and her friends settle into life in the tunnels, she begins to suspect that things might not be as perfect as they seem. The author shows well the darker side of humans, but what makes it so scary is it’s plausibility, you could actually see this happening should society collapse. The secrets, twists and brutality will take your breath away, nothing is held back. Her characters are broken and flawed but beautifully amazing as well. It’s raw, gritty, and defiantly an adult read, but it’s also lined with moments of softness and hope. Rozelle has once again delivered another gripping, unforgettable story that leaves you anxious for the next book.
This book is quite different than the first two! Rozelle has done an excellent job of keeping this story fresh and way, way action packed! If you've made it this far then you know that she doesn't hold back at all! These characters are gritty, real, and willing to do whatever it takes to survive and make it out of this nightmare together. Just like before, there are plenty of scenes in here that are very dark and intense. You will be stunned, wowed, and will never be the same afterwards. I'm not sure why I'm still hoping for a happily ever after out of this series, but one can never get up hope. Especially after the end!
Better than chocolate!!! A compelling continuation of Grace' s story. They have made their way to the tunnels and on the surface it is perfect. Finding lost friends that she knew "before" and meeting a great group of children make it almost too good to be true. Reality starts to set in and the drama begins. This is a riveting tale that won't let you put it down until you have consumed every last word and are begging for the next book!
Grace gets tested big time in this third book. Now that she has Missy to watch out for she is trying to act more responsible. What a world Christina has created in the Tunnels. You can totally envision this new version of a world with its RPs to earn and make purchases. Everything seems so easy and to good to be true, and Grace is trying desperately to not to let her guard down. For good reason as you will discover.
What can I say about this series except action packed and hot!! What I love about Christina Rozelle's writing, and this series in particular, is her real, honest, raw, emotional characters. If you're looking for any shrinking violets - this isn't your series. Grace is a fighter, even more so in this book, and I love the journey of her finding her voice and her strength. I love that this world is full of brutal truths, but also moments of beauty and love that take your breath away. It's such a delicate balance and Rozelle gives you just enough hope to keep you wanting more. The ending ties up the story line nicely, while leaving you anxious for the next book!

I have read The Treemakers Trilogy by this author and was sucked in. I wondered if she could do it again, but she has!! Her style of writing is amazing, when you start you just don't want to stop reading. There are so many emotions in these books and you feel everyone of them. The author writes with so much feeling that it definitely portrays in her books. I cannot now wait for the next one in this series. Keep up the good work you have such a talent.
OH MY!! Oh my oh my oh my... this world Grace has found herself in just seems to keep getting worse! Grace and friends had just gotten to the tunnels when we left her, and book 3 is just like turning the page, I loved that! Picked right back up where we left off. Grace, Logan, and Missy have found safety underground at the tunnels. Everything seems so perfect! A little working world underground. But something doesn't add up, and Grace's internal warning system is screaming at her! It almost seems like the perfect place for her, for Ophelia anyway, everything she always thought she wanted. But this new life is changing her, but she is a work in progress. We get meet some amazing "new" characters, and I hope we get to see more of them in future books, but the future is a mystery in this crazy apocalyptic world. And with every crazy, "that did not just happen" moment, and I can't think it can't get any worse or more insane, I find another "WTF" moment right behind it. A dark and gritty version of the apocalypse that I think is scary accurate to what things would probably be like. And I just can't get enough!
Another winner by Christina Rozelle. Grace, Logan and Missy arrived at the entrance to the tunnels. They are led onto an elevator that goes deep underground. As they descend, Grace starts to have doubts. Sure, Gideon sent her here as a safe haven but something just doesn't feel right. She looks to Logan but he doesn't seem concerned. When they finally reach bottom and have all their supplies, guns and knives put in safe-keeping, they both worry but then the inner doors open and they are dazzled. Grace goes off to the dorms to volunteer so she won't have to leave Missy and Logan heads to the boys dorms. Only after meeting her coworkers does she start to relax. However, Grace should have listened to the voices in her head. Drugs, alcohol and old friends pose too much of a temptation and her world is soon out of control. Time to grow up and take some responsibility in this- I didn't see that coming ending. Lots of unanswered questions in the end and I hope we soon see more of Grace and the broken world of Texas and New America.
Christina L Rozelle is one of those authors who you love or hate because of her GRITTY, REALISTIC writing. Myself I adore this author whole heartedly!! I first met her when I read The Truth About Mud, fell in love with her writing when I read the Treemakers Trilogy and after reading book 3 of The Night Blind Saga I will forever be a lifelong, stalkerish fangirl. Her work is not always pretty or what you would expect but it moves me with how closely it resembles life around me. Her writing is full of hard choices, pain, love and joy, it is filled with the best and worst of humanity and that is what makes it so amazing!! The one common theme in all her books is her hero/heroine aka Grace in this book struggles, but past that she is STRONG, she is not scared to go after what she feels is right and what she believes in. I love this about her books, in the face of adversity against all odds they stand. It really touches my inner most parts. This is another MUST READ by Ms. Rozelle!
Not just another zombie book, The Night Blind Saga goes deeper into the lives of the survivors of the outbreak. They are not just fighting the dead, but also the living and their own demons. The third installment in this saga is Tunnels and Planes, it picks up right where book two left off at. We automatically get sucked back into Grace's life and story we follow along side Logan and Missy, we are also introduced to some new pretty kick ass characters that all pull together and become more then just another survivor in Graces world. Grace loses some and finds love and family in people she never thought shed see again. This installment takes twists and turns I was not expecting. The ending really shocked me, I wont say anymore you'll have to just read the book and find out what surprises are at the end.
This is my favorite book of the series thus far!!! I finished within a couple of days-and even then only put it down because I had to! I love reading post apocalyptic books because there may be a sliver of reality how things could end. Ms Rozelle is quite creative in how the world could end which is intriguing in itself to read. I love how she has developed her main character, Grace from a troubled hopeless teen, to growing up and having hope in a damaged world. You cant help but wonder if this characters struggles came from real life experiences because they are so well written. This is definitely an adult book with adult content-not for the faint of heart. I promise you will not be disappointed with the fabulous writing!
I hope you are aware of the potential triggers in this story by now.☆☆☆ Can one book be both brighter and darker? Enjoyable and more terrifying? Break my heart and mend it only to tear it back out shred by shred. The thing I found was that amidst the chaos, the calm, the drugs and children the fear and the strength Grace continued to fight. Finally I knew it was for the one thing we all need, hope. And then she said it. Be prepared to feel all of the things that Grace feels. Experience the Tunnels with her. Understand the planes when she does. Trust in those she hopes are on her side and even if they are not, she finds she cares about them. Grace has grown so much in this story.
I enjoyed this one much more then the first 2 (If thats possible). A Very emotional and edge of your seat action packed story that will keep you guessing at every turn. I can tell Grace is maturing and getting stronger and smarter as she goes. This is Survival at its best and now the stakes are even higher. With more friends depending on her then she knows, Grace runs headlong into a fantastical race for their lives in this next great adventure. Will they find what they are looking for? Will they ever feel safe and happy again? Is hunger and paranoia the new norm? I for one can't wait to find out what happens next!
So, is book 4 ready yet? Ah, I love this series! Dark, sexy, and thrilling, there is a little of something for everyone. The main character, Ophelia, Grace, asskicker, is an amazingly strong yet deeply flawed woman, I think many can relate to. I love that all her imperfections are brought to the forefront and contemplated by the character during so much emotional and physical turmoil. This book has brought several new players into the series as well as new settings and issues to overcome. I am counting the days to book 4.
*I received an arc of this book for an honest review.*
Now in the tunnels, there's more going on down there then they really know. But will Logan and Grace figure out the truth before it's too late? Loved learning with them all what is really going on and which characters know the truth and who's good and who's bad. Can't wait to learn what will happen next in this new world. Will anyone make it out and will Gideon come back? I still can't figure out why he would have sent them to the tunnels.
Gritty, laden with adult content, sex and drugs. If it weren't for bad luck, they'd have no luck at all. Grace, Missy and Logan had made it to the underground city safe from the Zombies. Gideon had been right about the Tunnel City being a safe haven...or was it. Things are seldom what they appear to be most of the time in this new world. Anything you want is available and can be had in this new city, for a cost. Every one in this community is chipped and there is no need for money as they work on a point system. Points equal currency. You can work or take part in a verity of actions to earn points. The more depraved the act, the more points you earn. Grace has her shackles up in this place and she has gotten a few subtle warnings. She is going to uncover the mystery this place holds. She finds that the man she thought ran this place is not the puppet master after all. Christine Rozzelle has done it again creating a gripping novel. With complex characters and a deceptively inviting world.
I absolutely love this series! I know these last three stories are getting revamped into one book titled Willows in the End. I just wanted to say that I can't wait I read it again as The End Saga and find out what happens in book two titled Ravens in the End. Christina L. Rozelle is a brilliant writer.
Ok. This might be better than the last one! Now they have entered an almost perfect place, but of course something isn't right! When is it ever? Haha! At least now they aren't running and avoiding walkers and drones. Or are they?
The Tunnels is where most of the survivors are right now. They have a system in place that takes care of everyone. They have a point system instead of money for goods and services, and to earn those points, of course you have jobs. It might seem like a reprieve from the old world, but Grace feels that there is something hiding beneath the surface. And boy, was she right! They are all separated by dorms and sectors, and you do not have access to all. What are they hiding?
Follow Grace, Logan, and Missy in their new adventure in the Tunnels! The action towards the end will not disappoint! Talk about cliffhangers though! The torture we have to endure from Ms. Rozelle is bittersweet!
