Only a vampire can solve these crimes--a vampire private eye named Samantha Moon...
A Vampire. A Prison. An Alibi.
Private investigator Samantha Moon is working undercover for the Fullerton Police Department’s new top-secret Vampire Crimes Special Unit (VCSU).
With the increase in supernatural crimes in and around Orange County, Detective Sherbet needs Sam’s vampire detective talents to solve the real and growing threats to the citizens of Fullerton. This time, prisoners are recommitting the crimes they were locked up for, all while never leaving their cells.
When a suspect fits the description of an inmate whose alibi is solitary confinement, Sam suspects foul play. But the deeper that Sam and her partner, Brent Cole, investigate, the more perplexing the mystery becomes. When Sam is threatened by a civilian prison worker, she has no choice but to delve deeper into the prison's past--and its warden.
One clue leads to another and Sam comes face to face with the evil that is preying on the Chino Prison inmates. Now, before anyone else dies, she must fight the true threat that has weaved itself into the prison and the convicts it plans to consume.
Will the darkness of one desperate, revenge-seeking individual push Samantha too far?
MOON CRIMES is April M. Reign's third novel in the Vampire Crimes Special Unit series, her series set within the licensed Vampire for Hire Kindle World created by J. R. Rain, bestselling paranormal mystery author. The first book of the series, MOON HUNT, was a #1 bestseller in Kindle Worlds’ Science Fiction and Fantasy.
April M. Reign is the bestselling author of more than forty books. She was born and raised in Southern California and has two wonderful adult sons. Addicted to travel and discovering hidden gems, she uses those settings in her novels and shares them in her travel blog.
April M. Reign was born and raised in Southern California by her happily married parents. She is the oldest of three daughters and considers both of her sisters to be her best friends.
Growing up, she was involved in many sports: softball, surfing, tennis, and Kenpo karate. Many weekends at the beach with her family included her father packing up the long boards and teaching all three daughters how to ride a wave. The activity that stands out the most for her is the thirteen years that she spent studying karate with her family. The family’s karate days remain as some of her fondest memories.
Sports weren’t the only activities that she enjoyed. She played the accordion for twelve years and even played for Jerry Lewis kids fundraisers. During those years, she learned how to read and write music.
Besides writing music, during her high school years, she also discovered her passion for writing words. At fifteen, she began writing poetry. By the time she reached the age of twenty, she was writing short stories, with no other intention than to get the stories from her mind to paper.
At twenty-one years old, she married and shortly after, two handsome sons graced her life. When her marriage ended, she faced the long, difficult path of raising her two boys into strong, well-mannered young men. She took on the task with fervor.
In order to support her children, she worked as a litigation analyst for ten years at a large company and began to pursue a career in law. After long hours in college and even more hours at the law library, while still raising her children alone, she realized that practicing law was not the dream that she wanted to live. She spent the next eleven years as a U.S. Customs Broker, working directly with the FDA and FWS, clearing international shipments into the country.
While she worked full time and raised two adolescent boys, she also decided to follow her dream to write a book. A year later, Enticing the Moon was published. Since then, she has written six more novels and several short stories, and has entered many writing contests, winning first place on several occasions.
As an indie author, April M. Reign writes and publishes her own books. With the increase in her book sales, she was able to give up her job in the corporate world and pursue her dream of writing stories which she hopes capture the attention and intrigue of her readers.
Readers can find April M. Reign’s eBooks on Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com, and more online retailers. The books are also available in print at Lulu.com.
Samantha Moon 🌙 is an detective of supernatural fantasy for the Fulton Police Department with a partner. Prisoners are dying in the prisons on night 🌙 of the full moon 🌙. Samantha and her partner discover how it is happening and put an end to the violence killing. I would recommend this series and various authors to readers of vampire supernatural mystery novels 👍🔰. 2023 👒😀😡😮
I thoroughly enjoy these Samantha Moon stories that April Reign writes. I gave this book four stars, instead of five because of how it ended. I loved the story, but hate the dramatic cliff hanger at the end. I would rather have read a complete novel, that doesn't leave me hanging with no idea of when the next book is coming out. That being said, I love all the Samantha Moon books that April writes and recommend them to everyone! They are very enjoyable reads, keep em' coming April, and thanks!!💜💙💚💟📚📑😇
This was an entertaining story, lots of interesting twists and action. However the author forgot to stick to Sam's vampiric traits, sometimes they were there and other times they were gone. Like saying she didn't sleep last night, and had rings under her eyes, needed caffeine to wake up. Vampires don't sleep at night, coffee doesn't affect them. It was annoying. She also ended this book with the beginning of another. These are why it was 3 stars
We got a clue to this story at the end of the previous book. When a prison inmate in solitary confinement is seen on video robbing a bank, Sam and her new partner Brent investigate. Their first clues are that the warden has no background, moves around a lot and a prisoner dies of ‘natural causes’ every full moon.
Fave scenes: Kingsley meeting Brent, Sherbet’s favorite shop, Brent’s father and the Wanda’s Willows store.
Samantha Moon and her Special Vampire Crimes Unit is very busy in this book. The Piper game case draws her family and friends into dangerous territory. And it all happens while the unit is on another murder case from the penitentiary involving the warden and his witchy family. WOW this story is fantastic and full of surprises. I can't wait to read the next book. Kudos April Reign on this great series. Five stars from me.
More and more, keep these stories coming. Love the characters and the excitement of their adventures. Never thought I'd enjoy a vampire story so much. It's interesting how much trouble one little female vampire can get into, and how well she can bounce back and be ready for just about anything. Can't wait to see what happens next.
Very good suspenseful story! Samantha has a big problem and needs all of her supernatural friends to help. Can she solve her problem and save her children?
