John Michael Hanzlik
4 booksJohn Michael Hanzlik served in Vietnam with the 2/1 Armor Cavalry, the 1/50th Mechanized Infantry, and the 765 Transport Company during his extended tour in Vietnam. After the military tour was over, he returned to Vietnam as a civilian contractor for more of the 'Experience'. In 1995 John and his Vietnamese wife began to return to Vietnam during the winter, they still visit Vietnam when they can, but mostly, 'Hammer' just enjoys a "quiet" retirement by writing and riding and enjoying life.

Pat; I have watched so many movies n read books n stuff bout Nam n listened to stories friend’s n relatives told about bein there. I was a lot younger then but I listened patiently, sometimes eagerly. I was skeptical a lot cause some of what they were saying seemed to unreal. Like collecting "ears" n trading them for morph packs. Either you got high or traded them for r&r. Just stories I thought. But John my friend, I am older n wiser now n I love reading your writings. Knowing you I know your writings are TRUE life experiences. I love and wait eagerly for the next one every time. Thank you very much for sharing this part of your life with us John. I truly love and enjoy it my friend. Please never quit writing n sharing with us. Proud to know you.
