Decent introduction to data analytics but a little unclear at times

This is a nice short little read that covers aspects of data analytics

My major concern was that it seemed overly focused on Predictive modeling which is only one aspect of analytics, and did not offer details about other types of analytics. I happen to be pretty familiar with this space and was curious to see what this book covers.

The material related to Machine Learning seemed incomplete and rather unclear at times because the author tried to stay high-level but ended up being unclear at times. It also made me wonder if the author is actually himself familiar enough with hands-on analytics. The lack of diagrams made it also harder to understand some key concepts too. Last but not least, there was no mention of tooling that can actually help readers learn about ‘how to’ start with analytics, which is opposite to what the title of the book conveys.

This book just gives a brief overview of Data Analytics, and doesn't really tell one how to really do any part of it. If you just want refresher and have learned these subjects, but want to know when to apply them, it may be useful. But if you are not familiar I would say find another book.
