It was the perfect vacation for two good friends... until it wasn't. Death and jail would interfere.
Traveling from Bradford, Pennsylvania to Kalispell, Montana for two weeks of fishing and relaxation had all the earmarks of a great time. When things went awry, the local police were of little assistance. The body belonged to the Chief of Police of Bradford, PA. His associate was hustled into jail. Friends back home in Pennsylvania are furious and want answers. They are heading to Montana to get them.
Donna was destined to be a writer - in the 4th grade she took her toy typewriter and painstakingly typed out the neighborhood news, one copy at a time, and sold it to the neighbors for ten cents. But writing would take a back seat to 30+ years in the IT industry.
A late in life lover of adventure, she learned to ride a motorcycle at age 55, traveled the US solo on her Harley-Davidson at age 58 (42 states and 27k miles), selling her home and everything she owned to become a full-time RVer eventually where she met her current husband. They continued traveling in their 41' fifth wheel trailer (with room for their two motorcycles). In 2012 she decided to give fiction writing a try. Her first book, "Home Again" was a romance, quickly followed by the first two books in her Klondike Mystery series, "Not a Whisper" and "Barely a Spark".
Her latest adventure? Living in Cuenca, Ecuador where she continues her writing.

Once again D.B. McNicol writes another Excellent book. Well written. Easy to read, action packed, hated to put it down, page turner. Loved this book and Series. I love reading this book already and will read again and have. I highly recommend this book. This series by Donna B. McNicol was fantastic. Writing the Klondike Series was one of the best things she did.
#3 in the Klondike series takes mostly near Kalispell, MT, although probably half of the main characters in the Klondike stories wind up in Montana! Same type of setting, small town, same type of problems, though. Vandalism, dead bodies, greedy people - not a good mix except for trouble. I've enjoyed these stories, good mysteries with a touch of romance. Definitely not tense 'thrillers', but intrigue enough to keep me guessing and reading into the night!
This third book in the Klondike Mystery series is about Alan, retired firefighter and Dave, Chief of Police. They go to Montana on vacation to fish. Alan is gone on a fishing trip when Dave gets there to surprise him. Dave gets into investigating the vandalism happening where he has rented a cabin. Jazz and Cherie come to help Alan figure out all the crazy events. A crooked sheriff rounds out the suspicions. Another good story by a n easy going author.
When Dave Moore, a law enforcement officer from Pennsylvania sets out to surprise his friend Alan vacationing in Montana, he becomes entangled in a scheme that costs him his life. If you love a good mystery filled with lies and deceit, this is for you. I highly recommend this book!
Besides loving the characters and the different story lines I also loved the camaraderie of these country folks where e drone looks out for everyone else! It reminded me of the little village that I love in and love!
