alternate cover edition for Saving Starlet (ASIN B075SZ6S5G)

No woman has come close to capturing Brick's heart ... until Starlet.

BRICK
As a nomad for the Iron Norsemen, I don't owe my allegiance to one charter. I live for what our patch signifies. All I need is my bike and the open road--not a damsel in distress--even if she makes me think about things I never have before.

Especially since I found out she belongs to another man.

But rules are meant to be broken. No matter the cost.

STARLET

My husband is dead and I'm free. Free of the Devil's Crusaders MC.

I'm done with The Life.

Until a sexy nomad from a rival MC rescues me--tempting me to forget everything I've worked so hard to escape.

For once I deserve a night of unbridled passion. Just one. Then I'll walk away forever. Or die trying.

Starlet Vega is an old lady – or wife of a biker. Her emotionally, physically, and mentally abusive husband recently died in an accident and now she is running. She’s royalty – the daughter of the MC founder, and they want her back, but she has no intention of going back. Ever! When she wrecks her car and is rescued by an MC nomad (an enforcer with no ties to a specific club) from a rival club, she decides to indulge in one night of uninhibited desire. Her attraction to Brick and his unrelenting sexual stamina is impressive and addictive. She entertains fantasy, but quickly squashes it. He belongs nowhere and she is trying to get away from the life. No way can she afford to get involved with another biker despite her level of attraction and their sexual chemistry.

Austin ‘Brick” Anderson is immediately drawn to the red-head vixen and can’t get enough of her. He knows she is hiding something and has some knowledge of the MC life, but is on a mission of his own and must keep moving. When she ends up in the same city he is, he can’t help but ferret out all of her secrets – not to mention they can’t seem to keep their hands off of each other. He is the love ‘em and leave ‘em kind of guy – but Starlet makes him think of more; want more. Problem is Starlet belongs to another MC and Brick ends up with a gut-wrenching choice. Turn her back over, or risk an MC war trying to keep his perfect match with him.

Wow! I have never read an MC book before, but I can tell you that I will do so again in the future! I was hesitant at first because outside of the romance twist, I was jumping in to unfamiliar content. I wasn’t sure I’d understand or even like reading about motorcycle clubs and their way of life. Of course, I can not tell you if this is an accurate representation or just fantasy, but either way this book worked for me. Brick and Starlet are both jaded, having been exposed to atrocities that people should never have to endure, but their hard experiences in life are what end up making them the perfect pair; each complimenting the other. I really enjoyed getting to know Brick and Starlet, deficiencies and all. Their world of motorcycles, codes, and altogether different way of life (communities within communities) was fascinating. While I didn’t agree with some of the rougher MCs, I found I appreciated the laws and beliefs of the Iron Norsemen – probably more so after getting to know the club members a bit.

This is the 2nd book in the series, but read perfectly as a standalone. If you haven’t ventured into this type of story before and you like brooding, tortured males with equally strong women who meet them head on while maintaining just the right amount of submission, then check this book out. I honestly didn’t stop reading it until I finished it. Not that such an occurrence is out of the ordinary for me, but I didn’t want to put it down, which says quite a lot. This book has a little bit of everything – suspense, murder, foul language, motorcycles, second chances, possibility, love – and don’t forget the amazing, hot, insatiable sex! Ms. Rand has a great thing going in this series – a series I will be adding to my TBR list.

Starlet is running away to start a new life far from the MC she grew up in. The last thing she wants is to get involved with anyone from that life anymore, but a chance meeting with Brick, a nomad from the Iron Norsemen, has her rethinking that decision. Brick is not like the possessive, abusive, MC members she had to deal with in the past. But when her past comes back to haunt her, will he be able to keep her safe?

I liked the book but I didn't love it. There were times I wanted Brick to stand up to the Iron Norsemen for her, especially since he didn't seem to have any real connection to the people in this new chapter of the club, but doesn't really happen. Starlet has a chance to run away and make a new life for herself, yet she lets herself be pulled back into the life she so desperately wanted to get away from. It was a vicious cycle.

While this wasn't my favorite MC read, it was a good read. If you enjoy MC books, you might want to check this one out.

enjoyable read, interesting storyline and nice writing.

Brick is a prick as far as i'm concerned. hand her over to Silver? knowing full well what was going to happen to her?

so far these Norsemen are not living up to my expectations tbh. hand over a woman whose been abused since she was 16 yrs old all because she was a legacy princess and as bikers they don't interfere? i call bullshit.

i'm conflicted with the series because so far i havent been able to put them down once i've started, so addictive and compulsive reading. great right? yeah but there's just something missing from the two stories so far and i'm not quite sure what it is. so at the time i'm reading the book i'm really enjoying it, but as soon as its finished i'm thinking hmm a bit meh? unforgetable.

needs more depth, more thought, more work.

good easy holiday read though.

Since I have become a fan of late of MC's to read I search for ones that interest me. Do not want just any just because but ones that have good characters to pull of the story. This interested me because of the name of the club with Brick really catching my eye because of his status. When he comes across Starlet then you are off with them ready to lay back and soak it up. Besides freedom in question it looks as if stubbornness drives people also. Danger will build and thread its way through with the relationship building between these two it will also try to drive a wedge between them. things are a little different since he is a nomad but rules are still in place at times. What really counts is the final result in this.

Wow

This was a blind read. It was solid all the way through. Great characters both likeable and the way they were written seemed very real. Can't wait for the next one.

Amazing, steaming and oh so hot.

This is one hot story, fast paced and very exciting.
A great look into the life of a MC. The men live hard and love hard. The passion in this story is unbelievable. Extremely well written, I felt like I was right in the middle of the action. Violetta Rand has an incredible gift as a multi-genre author. I loved this story and highly recommend it.
