If you are in a profession that allows you the freedom of not being tethered to specific spot, pick up this quick read about the benefits of working from coffee shop. The author made the prospect seem so appealing that I am trying to figure out how to teach my classes from Starbucks now.

Ancil has tapped into something that is fundamentally a part of solopreneurs, working from coffee shops. I have been working from coffee shops for about seven years. Staying caffeinated and having wifi is a critical part of this journey.

Also, a part of this journey is community, building relationships that work, and connecting with other entrepreneurs that will enable us to be more successful entrepreneurs.

When the dust settles, we realize that entrepreneurship is as much about community as it is making a living. In community, we truly find avenues for success along with support. There are no better places than coffee shops to watch this develop.

So, grab a copy, go to a coffee shop, get a cup of java, and enjoy the stories and thoughts from entrepreneurs who are just like you. While you are there, strike up a conversation with your neighbor. You never know who you will meet.

This was out of the norm of genres I usually read but was intrigued by the idea of socializing and doing business inside of a coffee shop. It had me thinking that maybe I should show up at my local coffee shop just to get of feel of what this Author spoke about. They were many reasons to do business being in that type of establishment, and the one that captured me the most was building relationships with others who are doing the same exact thing. There are days where sitting in my coffee can be tiresome, and felt as if I connected with this read. I definitely look forward to reading more of this Author's work.

Common grounds is a collection of anecdotes from Ancil and his connections – most of which he met through his coffee shop office! This book is uplifting and supportive, especially for entrepreneurs. It's a great read if you're looking for some encouragement or need a change of perspective on business. What you won't find in this book is a “how to” for your business. It is not a guide in the sense of informing you how to run your business or effectively budget, but it will provide you inspiration from a community of fellow entrepreneurs, hard workers, and creative thinkers.

This is an enjoyable quick read extolling the benefits of working in coffee shops. I enjoyed the different perspectives - entrepreneurs, writers, coffee-shop owners - and the positivity of the stories they told. This is a discussion about how supportive your local community can be, especially within your local coffee shop. And when you add the easy access to caffeine, it's true that "coffee shop office" has perks it's hard to find elsewhere. I received an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.
