I had the pleasure of seeing Laurie Anderson perform "United States", and one other time too if I remember correctly. This work is important for the period and for the development of performance art, and it's good to have it well documented. The text here is good, but the photos are often unremarkable; one really needs video to capture the performances. And unfortunately the book was bound with a glue that has not aged well, so often found coming apart.
