Rate this book
The present study addresses the most common techniques in using metallic elements for seismic reinforcement. The different types of metallic elements will be examined along with their functions, their properties and installation on a worksite. To better understand these components, we will explain the way masonry buildings collapse in earthquakes, as well as the role played by each of the elements. This study seeks to highlight the heritage value of buildings and demonstrate less intrusive methods that maintain the architectural value of buildings.
