Everyone will make a sacrifice in the battle between the living and the dead...
As the smoke clears over Sacred Heart Orphanage, Cal and Rob find themselves wounded and missing several of their own. To make things worse, the demon called The Goat, the Overlord of the Marrow, has managed to claw his way back to the land of the living.
But he won’t stop there: The Goat is hellbent on releasing all of the evil trapped in the Marrow, even if it means murdering more of Rob’s friends and family in the process.
In the meantime, Cal is drawn back to a past he thought long forgotten and one he isn’t prepared to remember.
Rob and his ragtag group of ghostbusters are in way over their heads, and just when they think things can’t get any worse, they are put to another impossible decision. This time, however, the choices they make won’t just affect themselves, but every being on earth.
True story: I used to cut up bodies. No, not for fun, you sickos–for work. After reaching the age of majority and fleeing the clutches of an overprotective mother, I went to university like a good boy.
More than a decade later and an alphabet soup of letters after my name, I found myself looking down the double-chamber of a microscope at an eyeball. Feeling ironically introspective, I decided that it was time for a change.
After seventy plus novels and more than a million copies sold, I’ve found my true calling, one that also includes a plethora of letters. Hopefully you see something in my catalog that you like, something to feast your eyes on.
I also have two spooky podcasts that are appropriate for ALL ages, so long as you like to be scared: P.T. Logan's Five Minutes of Terror and Camp Fear. Both are FREE and available on all podcast platforms. For MATURE audiences, I've created two fiction podcasts, Nightmare Residue and Bad Priest.

I feel so cheated after reading five books of excitement and then I read this. This book is so rushed and unprepared it's so not funny. Mr. Logan you need to explain yourself.😟
Seriously? That’s the first word that popped into my head when I finished this book. I read the other books in the series super fast, but I had to literally force myself to finish this one. And then I was like “that’s it? For real?”
It seems to me as tho the plot didn’t move forward at all. It just went sideways. Our “hero” was asleep the entire time. He never got to talk with his mother, he didn’t find out where Amy (his daughter) is, and the big dummy completed the triad and opened the gates of hell because HE IS THE CHILD OF TWO GUARDIANS. Like duh, he should have known this. I don’t buy it. Pick up the stupid travois and whack your brother in the head!
I realize there may be other books that tell more of the story but how can you end a series this way? It feels like this book was rushed, and it also feels like (and I could be totally wrong here) the author and/or publisher are trying to just keep this story going to sell more books in a new series about these characters? Maybe? Idk?
I do like these characters and I do want to know more about how they got to this point in their lives and what happens to them in the future. I would have totally read more about them, IF I didn’t feel forced to have to. Does that make sense?
Basically I feel that Mr Logan is a talented writer, but I think his characters deserved better, and so did his readers.

I feel it was rushed to be published after being later than estimated release date. There was no backstory to help with the installment - and I got tired of going back to previous books for reference. There was action, but not much to encourage understanding of what was going on. The length disappointed me. After the wait, I feel it at least should have been as long as the earlier installments. There wasn't much about the marrow here either, just Cal's backstory. And then there was the ending. It wasn't even an ending. It was more like a climax with no resolution, and a long way from the supposed 'final installment'. Many times I was tempted to give up and read a different book, but I didn't. Now I really wished I had.
The author's note at the end of this book mentions "six books and one year" - which I think lends real credence to the fact that, as I was reading through Shores of the Marrow, it felt as if the whole series, but this book in particular, had been rushed.
Whether it was the author's or the publisher's decision to put out six books in such a short period of time, I don't think it was necessarily a good one. A lot more work was needed to "polish" the books, in terms of picking up errors (e.g. waddle used in place of wattle), and, personally, I think there were too many characters brought in, with a lot of focus placed on them for a time, for them to just be cast aside and forgotten about, or for there to be fleeting references made to them in later books. Similarly, main characters have big chunks of backstory missing that leaves them feeling quite unrounded, given that there have been six books (to date) in the series.
I really do think that this would have been better served as a more focussed storyline in fewer books, which would have been a meatier tale to get stuck into, with really well-defined and explored characters. As it is, I was left feeling like so much of the story was kind of "frothy" and lacked a certain depth - it never really drew me in and made me feel anything, which was quite a disappointment for me.
It's also something of a disappointment to come to the end of the book, without any real conclusion, find a link to a pre-order for the next book in the series and there be no such page when the link is clicked! Whether I'll come back to the series if and when Book 7 is released is, in all honesty, looking somewhat doubtful.

Including the dead ones.
Notes: O..M..G... I could not put this book down. Every chance I got I was reading. I was so drawn in I felt stuck like Cal. Such an intense adventure. More to come indeed. I cannot wait for the next installment with Rob and the gang and other characters.
Is this the end? Will our heroes emerge victorious? Guess it depends on who you are rooting for...the always huggable Carson or the naive Robert and friends. But seriously an epic finish to a stellar series and enjoyable whether you’re team Carson or team Robert. Looking forward to future branches/installments in this series. Rock on Patrick!
This was another good installment in the series, and I really enjoyed getting a little more backstory on the Cal character. My only negative is after all the build-up in the previous book there seemed little attention paid to the coming end. Still, certainly entertaining.
Where to begin, the storyline was again great. Also some surprising revelations again. Then why only 3 stars after I rated every other book in this series with 4 stars? Well, to be completely honest I was somewhat dissapointed in the ending. I don't like to give away spoilers, so I'll just say that it wasn't at all what I was expecting.
Another great book in the series!! I love how the 3 different series are all tied together!! Can't wait for more in any of these series!!! Keep them coming and I'll keep devouring them page by page!!!
I'm loving this series of books but I find it has become more of a saga than a series and I wonder when it will end and how........ Which is why I'm going for the next book!
The book was ok until it got choppy towards the end. The ending doesn’t do the first 5 books justice, and the link to Sacrifice in the author’s note at the end doesn’t work. The ending was terrible, and I can’t even find the 7th book to see what happens. Disappointing.
I read this book at a considerable faster pace than the rest, which is always a good thing. I definitely didnt expect the ending. Now, what happens next?
