SOMETHING STRANGE IS HAPPENING TO THE VILLAGE OF TREMARION.
Local mystic Cassandra Pugh claims supernatural powers are at work, but no one takes her seriously. Then the fairground people arrive. Bearing the names of ancient gods and goddesses and dressed spectacularly to match, they take the village by storm. Piers is their particular favourite, and is rewarded with the gift of a gold apple. Or is it a gift?
As events take a more sinister turn, Piers begins to fear that the gift might actually be a curse . . .
Enid Richemont's entertaining and suspenseful title gives an ingenious modern-day spin to some of the mot colourful characters and stories of classical mythology.
