Jack is trying to write a pirate story it's a school project. But he doesn't know any pirates and his dad won't let him have a parrot. Then he meets Captain Clawbeak and soon he has more story than he ever imagined, and a pirate treasure map thrown in.
I thought that when they found the secret tunnel out of Daggers' hideout and then when they found the entrance out of the secret tunnel were good parts of the book.
I liked two animals in the book and their names were Clawbeak and Fang. I liked what Fang said.
And I loved the bit when Dad let them keep Clawbeak for a week or two or if Clawbeak could stay for much longer than that.
Um, I loved the bit when they escaped from the blowhole.
Average young people read with pirates of course featuring, this is a part of a series, but I'm not sure how the order works, as there did not seem to be any indication in the book itself, or even here. Anyway all that aside, and average read.
