As one who has been working to fulfill the Great Commission in Asia for nearly 35 years, one of my off-the-continent challenges (and sometimes frustrations) has been to promote the cause of missions. Passion for the Heart of God does just this and is, therefore, a very welcome tool and encouragement to me. Its informative statistics, facts and stories--yes, lots of great stories!--should get anyone excited and serious about God's passion!

Wow. I absolutely loved this book from beginning to end. I cannot think of a book that has been as convicting, enlightening and informative (outside the Word of God of course) as this one has been these past couple of weeks. If I had to pick a book for ALL Christians to read this one would most definitely be a top contender. I received so much knowledge and new insight on scriptures I’ve read many times and it ministered to my heart in numerous ways. Do yourself and the rest of the world a favor and read this book!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“We are living in a shallow, hollow Christianity and hardly realize it. Our Christianity looks nothing like the book of Acts, and we some how have no problem with that. It’s anemic and weak compared to the apostolic glory days. We have started to rewrite our theology based on our lack of experience, rather than based on the scriptures”

Wow!! This book was extremely convicting but so important to read. The author shows us time and time again- through scripture, what the Lords heart is for the world and what is our response to it.

I see so many high reviews for this book. At times, I found it both equally convicting and inspiring, but then I hit a really negative point that I could not get past and had to stop reading.

The author wrote that the Christian God and the god that Muslims worship are the one and the same. That's a lie, and not just a small lie - that's a huge, dangerous lie. Readers beware. I do not know where the author got that notion from, but it is not the truth.

Passion for the Heart of God, written by John Willis Zumwalt, is a book about God's passion for every nation and His calling for all of His followers to go and spread His name. Using biblical scriptures and personal quotes from missionaries all over, this book tells of God's command for all of His children to 'Go, and make disciples of every tongue, tribe, and nation.' I actually went to a class that John Zumwalt was teaching and before that I thought I was not 'called to do missions' or didn't felt like that was 'God's purpose for my life' but after his class, I came out with a completely different attitude. He shows that not just some of us are called to missionaries, but that all of us are.It focuses on coming closer to God and understanding His heart more and His love for not just our nation or one nation, but for all the nations and His will for His name to be proclaimed throughout all of the Earth.

"Passion" is an explanation of the passion of God for the salvation of the nations and a challenge for the Church to embrace that passion as their own.

Zumwalt doesn't do this through deep theology or lofty terminology, but in simple, easy to understand language. The chapters are short enough and the language easy enough that anyone can be challenged by reading it.

Zumwalt starts with the Biblical basis of God's passion and then the heroes who came later to take the Gospel to the world.

Zumwalt pulls no punches. No one escapes his critical eye--not even himself. But his motivation is to get the job done.

You will not come away from reading this book without wondering what you can do to reach the world.

Highly recommended.
