Belgian socialist and psychologist.

De Man fought for the Belgian army in the first world war after the war he moved to Germany to teach sociology.

After the Reichstag fire he returned to Belgium he became vice-president of the Belgian Worker Party in 1938 he became the president.

He was critical of marxism and propagated planism.

After Belgium's defeat in 1940 he issued a manifesto welcoming the German occupation as a field of neutralist action during the war.
