David Feherty is golf’s multitalented funnyman, best known for his colorful on-screen personality for CBS Sports, and never-ending ability to find humor and perversity in the game of golf. Following the best-selling success of Somewhere in Ireland A Village is Missing An Idiot, David is back with his much awaited second collection of hilarious columns from Golf Magazine and golfonline.com. As an added bonus, readers will be treated to David’s newest writing endeavor, Feherty’s Mailbag, where he answers questions sent in by readers in typical Feherty style. This new collection promises not to disappoint longtime fans, and any virgin Feherty reader is sure to become immediately addicted to his cockeyed, yet refreshingly honest outlook towards golf and its relation to life as we thought we knew it.
This book was hilarious!!! It' basically a collection of articles he's done for Golf Magazines and web sites. I didn't realize that till I was almost finished, because it was reading like a book!
Another collection of quick articles (usually Golf Magazine or golfonline.com) from the wit of the idiot from Belfast, Northern Ireland. Some even non-golf related. This guy is a complete riot, cracks me up constantly.
David Feherty is a North Ireland born golf TV analyst who was a former European and PGA tour player. He walks with the PGA golf leaders each weekend and reports from the fairways from CBS and the Golf Channel. His twisted sense of humor has led to his own TV show on the Golf Channel where he interviews golfers and people related to golf. He also does monthly columns for a golf magazine. This book is based his golf column. Though sometimes I find Feherty humor is too tied to bad puns for my taste, however, there is something about his life story and humility that attracts me to him. He is an alcoholic (reformed) and suffers from the being bipolar. His ability to explain his life makes him able to show great compassion with those he interviews or writes about. With my fascination Feherty and my love of golf, it was easy to pick up this book. This book was written when Feherty had not come to terms with his drinking problems. It is just an easy fun read. The Feherty book will be his life story. This book was rather shallow, though funny at times, thus my 2 star rating.
