A murder mystery series that is raw, steamy, and gritty. It's packed full of danger with wild twist and turns. Will Baleigh survive, or fall from the edge of life?
Baleigh Burgess was trapped. Her world spun out of control the night her partner/lover was gunned down. Facing prison on trumped up drug charges, she was forced to go undercover to find the killer. She wasn't prepared to face her suspects, her old gang, she once ran with back in the day.
Faced with her morals being comprised in proving her loyalty. Concealing her identity which if discovered was certain death. Baleigh lived on the edge and only grew darker when the man she fell in love in traveled to Las Vegas. It was to be a fresh start, but every where they turned betrayal lurked.
Running on the Edge takes you on a taut, dark murder mystery, where everyone is a suspect and a thin line of betrayal looms at every turn.
The Running on the Edge Series is a three book box set. The box set includes, Silent Running (Prequel), Running Blind and Running Aces.
Running on the Edge Boxset - a review by Rosemary Kenny
This boxset is a masterpiece by Lisette Kristensen, comprised of Silent Running, Running Blind and Running Aces, which tell the story of Baleigh Burgess, ex-biker girl, ex-cop and now bounty-hunter...a girl on a mission to expose the truth and get her revenge - no matter who's responsible!
Silent Running Travis and Baleigh are partners in the Force and also in love. They have to keep their romance secret as 'fraternising' is frowned upon. When the pair are sent on a mission to scope out a gang house that's suspected of illegal activities, Baleigh begs Travis to let her send for backup, but he nixes that as her senior and pays the ultimate price when Baleigh's shot and wounded - and Travis is killed. As she recovers in hospital, Baleigh must keep her overpowering grief to herself as she tries to heal in mind as well as body, despite her broken heart.
Running Blind Now a bounty hunter on a mission, Baleigh rejoins the Raging Rebels gang she once ran with, earning the hatred of many of the gang members, who see her as a traitor. However, after she earns her 'stripes,' [by killing a Chinese storekeeper who'd refused to pay protection] and been tattooed with the gang's RR logo to prove it, Baleigh is 'taken on' as his old lady by Tommy, the Rebels' enforcer and under his protection she can begin to find out who was responsible for Travis' brutal death and her own disgrace.
Where does Tommy take Baleigh for a short holiday? Who is Chipper and where does he work? How does Chipper help Baleigh and Tommy? When does Baleigh meet Mikey and Amber? Whose side are they on and what advice does Amber give Baleigh? Who are Derrick and Jodie and what part do they play in the gang? What does Baleigh find when she goes alone to the house where Travis was killed? What happens next? Who saves Baleigh and who is putting her in danger? Who is Snakeskin and why is he happy Baleigh's back with the Raging Rebels?
Running Aces is the third and final book in the Box set and concludes the thrilling drama and bad boy romance between Tommy and Baleigh, complete with an unexpected ending.
Running Aces As successful, loyal members of the Raging Rebels, Tommy and Baleigh are satisfied when Snake tells them to form a new chapter of their gang in Las Vegas, by merging with the Coyotes under leader Hector Galante. From the start Baleigh mistrusts Galante, especially when she sees Aquila, a girl gang member with a Mexican drug cartel tattoo is part of the set-up. Later Baleigh and Tommy meet with Cole and Holly, aka Razor who run another local gang, the Night Order and are much more to their taste. As Tommy's still reluctant to listen to Baleigh's warnings, she reaches out to Mikey and Amber, who say they'll speak to Snake and join her and Tommy in Vegas soon. When things go badly wrong for the young lovers, Baleigh's injured and glad of her friends' support. Once recovered sufficiently, Baleigh and Razor team up and after getting her vengeance on both Tommy's and Travis' killers, uses Tommy's legacy money to start up an addict recovery/training programme to boost her Bounty Hunter Agency.
A great boxset that will appeal to fans of feisty female sleuths, edgy romance with bad boys and tough-yet-lovable girls getting lots of action throughout, with a believable ending. I loved these books and you will too - guaranteed! Don't wait to get your boxset and, like me, hope there'll soon be more of Baleigh's story and steamy action all the way!
