Corporate Risk Management: A Multi-Factor Approach

Rate this book
Firms do not operate in a vacuum. They are continually confronted with a variety of external risk factors influencing their performance. As a consequence corporate risk management is called for. This book presents a new approach to corporate risk management. The approach is based on the multi-factor method, which serves to analyze the systematic risks encountered by the firm, such as those caused by the business cycle, the wage rate and the interest rate. The book concentrates on four How to describe the firms' risks? How to measure these risks? How to evaluate the firm given the risks encountered? How to change these risks? These questions are theoretically answered and empirically illustrated in the book. The empirical research ranges from an analysis of the risks of individual bakeries to an examination of the sensitivities of Dutch manufacturing industries.
