Autumn Warren and her friend Cecily determine to have one last hurrah before the crazy whirl of planning Cecily's wedding. Autumn reluctantly agrees to lay off the barbed comments about her friend's imminent move to Italy (for no better reason than that Cecily fell in love) and the girls rent an apartment at Cambria's Paradise Pines Lodge for the entire fall season. Autumn's reluctant agreement to remain silent regarding her friend's upcoming marriage, in no way indicates a change of heart about letting a man into her own life. She's watched enough friends get married and divorced to sour her on the subject of love and the sanctity of marriage. (Autumn isn't exactly a religious person, but she doesn't believe in divorce, and seriously...given the current divorce statistics, why even risk it?) But when she meets Russ Amundsen and his adorable daughter, Dalynn, she finds herself in danger of losing her carefully guarded heart. And what is it about the mysterious Miss Angelina Love—who may or may not own Paradise Pines—that makes Autumn believe her heart never stood a chance once she set foot inside the lodge?

I'm certain Paradise Pines is a small piece of Heaven on earth, complete with angels. This book is filled with hope, lessons of trust and learning to love. I loved this return to Cambria. I'm a bit sad, knowing only one "season" is left even though I can't wait to read it. I love how Delia Latham brings Paradise Pines, Cambria and her characters to life. As I was reading this book, Autumn Falls, it was almost like watching a movie. I could see the things that were happening. I could feel Autumn's reluctance to let go of her long-held disbelief in love. I also loved the messenger in this book bringing little gifts to Autumn. I liked the gray-eyed "rock man" and the "feisty little yapper." Each one has strongly built walls and crumble just a bit each time they are together. I don't give spoilers but I don't think I'm giving anything away if I say the last line of this amazing book. It is so important for all of us to remember and hold on to. "Love never fails, my dear. Love never fails." Now, my fellow readers, you MUST read this book to find out who says this most wonderful line and to whom it is spoken to.
*This book is part of a series but like the others, it can be read as a stand-alone novel. Previous characters do make appearances but they are explained so you know who they are. You will want to read the previous books though. Trust me.
Every story I have ever read by Miss Delia Latham is a five-star winner! She knows how to take the simple and make it extraordinary.
There are so many beautiful examples of love and what love is in Autumn Falls. So many simple truths. Paradise Pines is adequately named. I love to get lost there with all of the charming characters.
Autumn was emotionally hurt at a very young age and doesn't believe in love. When her best friend CC becomes engaged she convinces her to take on one last adventure. Paradise turns out to be Autumn's biggest challenge and adventure ever. It is here she learns of dreams, the unusual, and true love.
She meets a little girl, Dalynn, much like herself, a Stoneman, Russ Amundson, who calls himself the girl's daddy.
Read the story to see if they can charm each other and find peace.
It can be so easy to build up misconceptions about love since human love often fails. I’m so glad that God’s love is unconditional. When human love fails, His does not. We are able to find human love as we trust in God’s love. I love the animals and the miraculous things they do in these stories. Very well done!
What a wonderful book. I just loved Ty's blue jay bringing the verses to Autumn. This series is so good. Nothing like a young girl to really bring something special to the book. I really enjoyed this book. I received an advanced copy of the book from the author.
This was such a delightful book to read. It had a whimsical nearly otherworldly feel to it. While I was reading I had the suspicion that one of the characters was an angel.
I loved it! For those of you wanting a Christian romance with a wonderful flair that will leave you with a smile on your face, then this is the book for you.
I personally loved how both Autumn and Cecily, but especially Autumn was drawn closer to God through reading and experiencing 1 Cor 13.
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with the opportunity to read and review this book
