No matter how hard you try

You can’t escape your destiny

After her victory over the murderous demon, Lizzie is abandoned by the people she thought of as her family. She is alone, again.

When she finds the cottage from her dreams, Lizzie grabs at the chance to start a new life as far away from magick, Elementals, and her failed relationships as possible.

What she thinks will be a solitary existence in the wilderness turns out to be anything but. Within days of moving into Rose Cottage she is befriended by Grandma Faye, the village wise woman, and two unlikely roommates.

But her idyllic life soon starts to crumble when she discovers her beloved cottage holds a sinister secret. With the help of Grandma Faye, she is determined to bring peace to her new home and put right the wrongs of the past.

As she delves deeper into the mystery of Rose Cottage she comes face-to-face with the secrets of her origins, the depth of her magickal powers, and an inevitable confrontation with a familiar dark being who wants to claim her soul.

This book was so well written and I loved it even more than the first in the Ravenwood Trilogy. I liked how it left off from the first, introducing us right to Lizzie's paradise oasis, the enchanting and whimsical Rose Cottage. Reading about her journey and growth as a character was compelling and helped me feel more connected to the character. Lizzie feels relatable and true to herself; she truly feels like a character I can actually relate to in a fantasy setting, something that is rare among fantasy books in my opinion!

The beautiful descriptions were to die for! I loved all of the cozy writing and the enchanting language, e.g. roses, magick, lavender, and so many more! Each sentence with its beautiful descriptors reminded me again of L.M. Montgomery's writing and how she found beauty in simplicity and the cozy things in your life, such as your cozy cottage home, warm tea, the friends you have around you, the whimsy forest, and the magick you can find everywhere you turn.

The characters are such a delight. Especially with their names, which I adore. Even the side characters and minor characters such as the Witch of Grey House, Emma Hawksworth. Another wink to Jane Austen, I love it! And the character names like Bernadette "Birdie", the gentle giant Bear, Quin the most endearing raven and familiar, and the woodland forest sweetheart Wren. The side characters Bear, Quinn, and Wren were especially so beloved and well written You can't help but root for them and wish them well. They are so compelling and interesting as characters in a story that you can't forget them. Not only are the characters beloved to the reader, but also are the magical and whimsical homes, like Lizzie's Rose Cottage. And what an enchanting name! Reading about the coziness and sweetness of the cottage felt like a warm, comforting hug. The cozy language really added to the beauty in simplicity of the book.

This book was even better than the last. I absolutely adored it all. I could not put my book down near the end because it was just so compelling and thrilling. Absolutely excellent writing in the thrilling scenes; you make an great thriller writer. Very compelling and immediately hooks your attention.

Beautiful book, well done! Brava!

Second installment of the Ravenwood Trilogy

A bit slower than the first book-- but I still liked it. It continues Lizzie's story . She is independent & alone again starting anew in a new place. She buys her beloved cottage from her dream but things aren't quite perfect after discovering the secret the cottage holds. She also discovers a little more about herself in this book and who she is and what has led her to the cottage in the first place!
Awaiting Book 3 !

“no matter how hard you try you can’t escape your destiny”
This book is fun, exciting and full of magic! An amazing follow up to the first book The Enchanted one! I could not put this book down. Lora continues to have an amazing writing style the same as the first book and brings every scene to life! She puts so much detail into her writing that I feel like I am actually in the book!
