Before there were legends there was war.
Before fables came twisted truth and distorted tales.
Things deemed too dangerous were sealed, and bound for all eternity.
Or so it was believed.

Whispers from an ancient realm threaten the peace, drawing a lone adventurer into The Depths of Acheron.
He seeks something from within this sealed domain, and those banished want something in return.
Something belonging to them.

There was a prophecy forged of rebirth and death.
But knowing what is to come can change what will be.
And there is one who seeks to do just that.
He intends to use every tool at his disposal, every distraction and manipulation, to ensure the future will be his.

The time has come for the forgotten to be unveiled, and for the sealed to be unbound. Only then will the world know true fear.

Each book in The Forgotten Legacies series reads as stand alone and donates a percent of royalties to The DMWS who are an independent charity who operate across the UK, and overseas, supporting those who put themselves in harm’s way to serve our country. This includes Armed Forces personnel, Reservists, Veterans and their families, the Police, and increasingly other front line services as well as to their primary care givers and healthcare professionals

Wow! What a sweeping piece of fiction!
Highly recommend to fans of High Fantasy.
This is a book to be savoured over time without rushing. Incredible imagination and world building make up this complex, satisfying read.
I especially liked that each character was flawed but mostly acting on the history they believed and to further their own kind against those they felt had harmed them. Tara as a character personified this. Those she trusted twisted her truth with lies until she didn't know who she was or the difference between reality and truth. Everyone used her in some way to achieve their aims.
Amazing piece of fiction.

At just over 500 pages this is one of Simmill's smaller books. It is also my favourite out of the series. I am truly hooked and will be picking up all of this authors books as they come out. I don't mind recommending them to others either.

The Remedy is a freaking fantastic book and I mean it! K.J.Simmill has a way with words, this is might be one of the best-written books out there, her descriptions are magical, her narrative pulls you in, her characters are extremely well developed. With each page, you are amazed and shocked. Each time you believe you have understood it all, you come to the inevitable conclusion, “I know nothing,” and you read on. It happens again and again on the next page as the author introduces new unique characters with their own magic and stories. And you are back to feeling like you are a newborn reader in a story that will get the better of you each time.
Simmill took me to a world that I no longer believe is imaginary. No one can have an imagination this wild so it must be real. This book was extremely novel, complex and intriguing. When I’d watched Interstellar, I remember saying that it was amazing and I had to watch it again to make sure I had not missed anything. I got the same feeling in here. That question will remain with me until the next time I pick this book up and I will. I loved the characters, Taya, Yuri, Rob, Bray, Stacy and many others. I was emotional with all Taya had to go through, she was like the sacrificial lamb from the beginning to the end. I just wanted to jump in the book and save her. I sympathized with Yuri, the gentle heroic Daemon prince who had to watch it all happen to his lover. Wow, Bray was the dark horse in this book. Rob…well, he was just a human hunter and collector of relics, yet he was no less interesting. On the contrary, though there were times I was extremely mad at him, in the end, how could I not like him? Sunniva was a puzzle I was trying to solve from the beginning till the end. Who was she? Was she good? Was she lying? I was never sure.
With all the fascinating characters, there will not be a minute of boredom in this reading. Simmill is an author to watch for! I just wanted to jump in the book and save her. Rob is surrounded by darkness; a darkness that encompasses everything in its path. He cannot see, but he knows he is not alone. There is something approaching, of that he is certain. It does not seem possible, but the shadows about him continue to grow darker. As his fear begins to grow more intense, Rob realizes that the entity that pursues him is one he cannot face. Every sound around him heightens his ever-growing terror. Then, somewhere in the abyss, Rob recognizes what looks like the smallest hint of light. If only he can reach it in time.

Remedy: The Forgotten Legacies Series Book Three, by author K.J. Simmill, takes readers on the adventure of a lifetime with the book’s main character, Rob. Virtually every interaction he has and every problem he must solve on his way to his final success is fraught with danger and described with an incredible amount of detail. The imagery Simmill creates for science fiction fans is simply stunning.

The richly detailed dialogue enhances the story line allowing readers to be immersed in Rob’s plight, while not overwhelming readers with too much. Simmill uses dialogue in order to maintain the integrity of the story and enhance the readers’ ability to visualize dynamics between characters. The story’s narrative provides beautiful imagery while giving insight into how the character is developing and advancing the storyline.

The character of Taya will captivate readers while eliciting sympathy. This character endured things that gives the novel added elements of surprise and horror. Details given by Simmill are chilling and will keep readers on edge.

Remedy: The Forgotten Legacies Series Book Three, by K.J. Simmill has characters that are unique, strong-willed, and memorable. I highly recommend Simmill’s work to anyone looking to follow a new and promising author. Fantasy and science fiction fans alike will enjoy this swiftly-moving powerhouse of a novel.

What if everything you thought you knew, everything you had been led to believe, was a lie?

Taya has suffered from terrible hallucinations all her life. Abandoned as a baby, if it was not for the care and diligence of Sunniva, then she did not dare think where she would be. Sunniva had warned that one day Taya's illness, her madness, would consume her, but what if the madness wasn't madness at all. What if her illness was caused by the woman who had so-called sworn to protect her?

Oh. My. Days! Buckle up and get ready for one hell of a ride. Remedy (The Forgotten Legacies Series Book 3) by K.J. Simmill is one of the most compelling and page-turning mythological fantasies that I have ever read.

There is a huge cast of characters in this book, they all have back stories, and no one is as they seem — what on earth was going on with Bray? I wasn’t expecting that! I loved the portrayal of Taya, and I really felt for her. Several times, in fact, I was actually in tears because of what she had to endure. Rob, was also one of my favourite characters although sometimes I just wanted to shake him. He could be so self-centred and driven to achieve his own desire that sometimes he came across as very callous, but underneath it all, he does have a very caring heart.

K.J.Simmill certainly has a way with words and her vivid descriptions really made this world come to life. Her word building was very elegant and a real joy to read. Remedy (The Forgotten Legacies Series Book 3) does work very well as a standalone but I think you would be doing yourself a disservice if you started with book 3. If you are looking for epic fantasy, then look no further than The Forgotten Legacies Series.

I Highly Recommend.

After reading the first two books in the series I couldn’t be happier to get my hands on this newbie, and it certainly didn’t disappoint! Just like the previous two books, “Remedy” featured an unforgettable fantasy world, each detail of which was so excellently thought-through and executed that I felt completely immersed in it, and that’s definitely a testament to great writing. The characters were also so memorable, vivid and complex that I didn’t want to part with them when the novel ended. Taya definitely became my personal favorite; she was both fragile and incredibly strong when it came to the fate of her people, and she definitely deserved my utmost respect for her bravery and resilience that she showed in the direst of situations. Bray also won my affection from the very first scenes in which he appeared, always lightening the mood with his sardonic humor and at the same time stepping up to offer his help when it was most needed, even though such help sometimes came in the most unorthodox of ways. What I also enjoyed was how such issues as letting go and moving on from the loss of loved ones were raised as they will resonate with many readers. Just like the first two books, “Remedy” is definitely a five-star read and I can’t wait to read more from the talented Ms. Simmill. Highly recommended.

As always, I look for story first and KJ Simmill scores high on story telling ability. Not my usual type of book to be fair and I did struggle with the balance of narrative and dialogue, but that is a minor criticism. This is the first book I have read by this author and it is as it transpires the second in the series. To have it work as a stand alone book for me is an achievement in itself and while I would always suggest that readers should read a series in sequence, you could quite happily pick this up and read without having read the first one. That being said, the author tells such a good story, I suspect you will have missed out on something as no doubt I have and I intend to go back and find out what. Definitely an author that will shine in the future, download a KJ Simmill book and see for yourself.

Lots to savour in this rich tapestry

This is a dark fantasy featuring Greek/Roman mythology. It is book 3 in the epic Forgotten Legacies Series. I've read Darrienia and The Severaine and enjoyed both so it was no surprise that the third book would continue to entertain and provide a rich tapestry. The author has a wonderful storytelling skill that draws the reader into the world with powerful intrigue and mystery that doesn't let up. Fascinating story arcs are woven with great attention to detail and vivid description of both characters and their world so that they are quickly believable and come readily to life. Characters are memorable and fit perfectly into the story. As with the previous books there are tense conflicts, heroes and villains to follow and plenty of twists and turns kept me turning the pages. Lots to savour in this well-written story. Highly recommended.

Each book in this series gets better, which is some feat since the first one blew me away. The beautiful complexity of the world is only outshone by the plot, which is only outshone by the characters. There is no way to decide what was my favorite aspect or element because they are all remarkable and meld together to make an experience that is what high fantasy is all about. I was happily lost in this world, navigating alongside of the many POV characters, saddened when reality forced me to put the book down. The character motivations are real and born of the intricate backstories. You can read this standalone, as with the other parts but this experience is so wonderful, I know you'll want to read them all. Highly recommended.

A Story Weaver of Tales! Hard to put down! Must read!

I would say it's a 4.5 out of 5 (they don't do half stars) not something I normally pick up but glad I did. This is the first book of K. J. Simmill I have read, the world and characters she created were so detailed and it was an amazing adventure. If you are a fan who likes High Fantasy Adventures and stories laced with legends and magic this book is for you! A beautiful standalone piece. Amazing 3D characters and tons of twists and turns. I highly recommend this book! A great page turner keeping you at the edge of your seat for the duration. Buckle up!

Absolutely loved it!

An epic tale of love and betrayal, with magical elements, benevolent deamons, relic hunters and a cast of incredibly deep characters.

If you want an unputdownable read from the very first page, then this is the perfect book for you. With fabulous descriptions, great scene setting along with deep and well thought out characters, it didn't matter that I had leapt into this series at book 3. (though I will be going back to buy the others, just because this book is so brilliant that I need to find out more)

I loved this book’s spiritual undertones that lifted every layer of the plot to a higher complexity. Its beautifully crafted characters are still vivid in my mind, more living beings than merely a fancy of fiction, and as they told their story, I was drawn not only along, but INTO their predicaments. A truly spellbinding fantasy that is resplendent in magic, mystery and mayhem, I highly recommend anything by this exceptionally talented weaver of words!

Remedy will take you into the world of Greek mythology in a way you've never experienced before. This isn't a place where gods turn lovers into swans or constellations. It's a dark, complex world where an evil plot is brewing. The story is long, but you'll be caught up in its intricate plot with many twists and turns. You'll second guess the motives of characters and wondering if they're good or bad. It's a book you'll think about long after you've finished reading it.

This book is part of the Forgotten Legacies series.
Although this was the first book with Rob, Taya and Bray I was a tad confused by the history as I’ve picked this up mid-series. There’s lots of characters, lots of history and multi-layering that I wasn’t aware of but that doesn’t take anything away from the story at all. The development of each character and the descriptions given are so beautifully written that I was completely drawn in. It was awesome! Loved it.

Fans of Ursula Le Guin will appreciate this work and series. Multi-layered, multi-dimensional, the author has paid immaculate attention to detail. Taya and Rob are meticulously drawn and captivating characters. Recommended highly for lovers of classic fantasy. I did not start with book one, but found this a satisfying standalone piece.

A fantasy in which the author has created a complex and totally believable world where passions, mystery, drama and meticulously-drawn characters blend to form a viable, well-constructed whole. The detail given to scenes, and the epic world created, reinforces the authenticity of the story. Highly recommended.

This author has it down pat how to bring description to life. Now if only it could be mixed with a little more action, suspense and anticipation, this book could be stellar. The great ones know how to move a story along....that is why they are the great ones.

Wow! This world will suck you in and not let you go! So detailed, so well thought out. This is the type of world that can be compared to Tolkein. Well Done Simmill.
