A little fury never hurts... Until the FBI comes knocking.
Sawyer didn't make it out of the destruction of Club Diablo without scars. Lots of them. They criss cross his body from head to toe. His pack is trying to help him recover, but between the smothering and the whispers, he's not interested. Once again his life has been destroyed by hunters and this time he doesn't want to start over. He wants revenge. He definitely doesn't want to babysit some Fed, no matter how many of his buttons she pushes.
Penelope Bishop has always wanted to prove herself as one of the top profilers for the FBI, but she's had to struggle to get out of her father's infamous shadow. Finally, she's been given a chance to show she can handle a high-profile case on her own. She's sent to Devils Point Island to profile the suspect who planted an explosive in a strip club. Except what she finds doesn't fit any profile she's ever seen and the local assigned to help her is more interested in the chip on his shoulder and what color panties she wears.

I like Eliza Gayle's Devil's Point Wolves series, and I was hoping that this would be the great finale the story deserved. It started off well, with werewolf Sawyer helping FBI agent Penelope investigate the fire at the club where he worked (caused by werewolf hunters). Then the plot in the middle gets convoluted . And then it just kind of ends, leaving a lot of threads still loose. It's not bad, but this book had so much otential to be great, and it wasn't.
This series had a lot of potential but it never reached it. I didn’t like how quickly the women accepted the concept of wolves and just moved away from their jobs, homes, and families, it was unrealistic. Yes, I am aware that there was a magical mating involved but the women only held on to their doubts and fear for 3 pages and quickly got over it in a short period. There could have been a smoother transition or a bit of time between finding out and accepting everything. Also, I get that the men were ‘alphas’ but they were quite controlling and didn’t give the women much of a choice which I didn’t like.
Penelope seemed like the smartest of them all and I initially liked how she questioned everything but suddenly there was a kidnapping and she threw all logic and sense away. She was suddenly okay with being lied to, bitten, and leaving her old life. That felt out of character from the way she was described earlier in the book. Sawyer’s trauma from the burn was also not explored as well as it could have. Everything was tied up too easily and the plot could’ve been so much better if there was more depth and the stories were not rushed to a happy ending.

Sawyer was at club diabolo owned by the devils point wolf pack when it blow up. He is healing but will never be the same. Penelope Bishop is a FBI agent a signed to find out what happened. It just happens she is sawyer's mate. Oh and the hunter's who set the bomb? They are still around. Great story. It's fast paced and I loved the characters. I fell into the story from the start and couldn't put it down! Lots of action, mystery, drama and spice plus bad guys! I have to have bad guys to hate on lol. Voluntarily reviewed a copy and I honestly loved it.
This conclusion to the series is not a novella like the rest, but still focuses on our couple. There were a few things catching up with previous couples in the epilogue, but this was all Sawyer and Penelope otherwise. These two were total opposites who had personal issues that also needed to be worked out. The pack isn’t happy with this potential mating but they go along with it for Sawyer’s sake. Heat, check, bad guys finally put in their place, check, kick butt heroine, check, tortured hero, check, and a HEA that is done on their terms!
The final book of the series and it has a little bit of everything, sexy shifters, explosions, kidnapping, corrupt hunters and a mating season celebration. Book 6 and whilst 1-5 were novellas this is definitely a book but it ties all the lose ends up beautifully. Penelope's sass matches Sawyer's anger and together they become a need neither one can control. I really enjoyed this series and look forward to reading more of Eliza Gayle's shifter series.
Our heroines mind is constantly going, so when she tries to figure out what's wrong on the island, things just don't add up. The extreme attraction to our hero, the kidnapping and subsequent knowledge that they are a whole nother species, just about do her in. But it's the unmistakable love of our hero that makes her willing to change who she's been.
Wow, is all I can say after reading the complete series of Devils Point Wolves. The series had me intrigued all the way thru, from the three Alphas to the best friends security team. The amount togetherness and protection of their pack left you wondering how they found time to find love.
I didn't review the others in the series, but I will give a review an overall review. I found the series to be entertaining and quick reading. The shifter males were hot and the females were feisty. I really enjoyed this series and will look forward to more of the writer's books.
Short story shape shifter romance. 🌶️🌶️ Better than the last one with only a few minor punctuation errors. This one had a good story line until the last 2 chapters or so then it just kinda rambled like they weren't sure where to go with it. The epilogue seemed unnecessary but most epilogues do. Only slightly more detailed spicy moments than a closed door romance.
All stand alone books; but better if you start at book one because it’s really like a long story where you get to know all the characters and watch them evolve. I want to live on Devil’s Point!
I loved this entire series! I'm sad to see it end. This is my first series that I've read from author Eluza Gayle and she did not disappoint! I'm going to go back and read the Southern Shifter Series now!
