This book gives remarkable insight into the campaign for women’s right to vote in Scotland - a part of history that is all too often forgotten! So often when we think of the suffrage campaign in Britain, we think of certain key figures occupying certain urban contexts (London is a prominent backdrop). However, Leah Leneman brings to life some of the inspiring, incredible women who fought on the front lines and tirelessly behind the scenes for decades across Scotlands, in towns, cities, countryside and by the sea, to earn our vote. A must-read!
