Good premise. Unrealistic ending. Unhelpful to young readers.
Story: Lee and Barney are brothers and best friends. Then Barney starts school and Lee is left alone at home and misses him. When they do spend time together, Barney treats Lee differently.
Characters: Two bears, young, cartoon style.
Language: Full page illustrations with short sentences.
I liked the premise of this book, but the solution to the problem in my opinion is unrealistic. If a child attempted to use this book as a model and do the same things Lee does, they would be disappointed by the result. IMO a better solution would have been for Lee to pursue his own interests and make new friends of his own.
