I have studied .45 ACP Super Guns by Joe Ramos. This is a neat book about the history of different makers and what kind of easy custom work you can do on your Colt 1911 or clone 1911. Since the book is published back in 91 it is somewhat dated but still interesting. This is almost a must if you are into the legendary 1911 and its variations.
