Mother Mary Angelica of the Annunciation, PCPA (born Rita Antoinette Rizzo; April 20, 1923 – March 27, 2016), usually known as Mother Angelica, was an American Franciscan nun best known as a television personality and the founder of both the internationally-broadcast cable television network Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN) and the radio network WEWN.

In 1981, Mother Angelica started broadcasting religious programs from a converted garage in Birmingham, Alabama. Over the next twenty years, she developed a media network that included radio, TV, and internet channels as well as printed media.

Mother Angelica hosted shows on EWTN until she had a stroke in 2001. She continued to live in the cloistered monastery in Hanceville until her death at age 92 on March 27, 2016, Easter Sunday.

In 2009, Mother Angelica was a recipient of the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice Award granted by Pope Benedict XVI for services to the Catholic Church.

It will be no surprise that the wisdom recorded in this compilation all took place while Mother was in Adoration. Even though I have finished reading this book, Mother’s words will stay with me for the rest of my life. This guide to practical holiness is a treasure with much to contemplate. True change happens slowly, therefore it is worth the reader’s time not to rush through the content, that it may help shape and form one more to the image of Christ. God bless Mother Angelica ❤️

Mother Angelica created such a beautiful treasure trove of wisdom and consolation, when she wrote the mini-books that became this single combined volume. She truly gives you a "practical" approach to holiness in covering various problems, doubts, and mental stumbling blocks that any Catholic will probably face in their daily life. The book has a very soothing, comforting mood; and I found it very relevant to many of my own personal situations. I strongly urge any devout Catholic to read this book, at least once all the way through!
