A Nation in Distress. President Chyrise Elliot’s first term of office was completing a fairly uneventful first four months when four simultaneous kidnapping incursions are made into the residences of her children. Twenty-four hours later a ransom video is furnished to the news media revealing the kidnapped children in a desert setting and the beheading of one. The Jihadi John type kidnapper threatens to behead them all in forty-eight hours unless the president resigns from her position. It is up to the Secret Service to locate and rescue the kidnapped children but there are few clues except for the terrorist’s ransom film. Will that be enough or will President Elliot be forced to give in to the terrorist’s demands?

I was given this book as a goodreads give away. I really waned to like this book but it was not to my tastes. I found it slow where I like quick paced page turners. My biggest complaint (again, my tastes) is the number of characters in the story. There were so many, more kept being introduced, and they came back into the book so sporadically that I lost track of who did what, where, and to whom. It was like Game of Thrones. By the time the revelation hit I couldn’t remember who the person was nor why it was such a big deal. I am sure this would be a good book for many just not for me. I thank the author for giving me the opportunity to expand my repertoire.
An absolutely riveting thriller! It is rather frightening reading the plot unfold, particularly the intricacies within the core of villians and how careful things were planned. Seeing law enforcement officers investigating clues was a great addition to the tale; the author did a phenomenal job it showing the breadth of knowledge that can be obtained from crime scenes. I don't want to give any spoilers. This is the best thriller I've read in a long time. Nicely done! Hoping to see this in Kindle or Nook format so I can add it to my digital library!
I have never read a police report but I think most of this book could be one. The presidents children are kidnapped and there is only 48 hours to rescue them before they are beheaded. The secret service steps up to the task, resulting in a riveting race to save the children, capture the criminals, and find the leaders of the plot. I recommend this book to those who like fast action and subterfuge. I received this book from Goodreads for free.
In my opinion the cover of this book is misleading. At first glance I thought it was a comedy about Ninjas. Actually that is not even close. It is a drama about a serious subject. The question asked in the book is what would the president do if her children were taken by terrorists.
In this story the president of the United States is a woman with 4 college-aged children. Each one attends a separate university in the US. A plot is made and carried out to kidnap each of the four at the same time. Even though each kid had 2 secret service bodyguards the kidnappings are successful for 3 of the kids. One gets away and is flown back immediately to the white house for safety.
The president has always said that she will not give in to the demands of terrorists, but these are her own children. What will she do to save them? Can the Secret Service help? Read to find out!
